Title: Empty house
Post by: Rich on February 28, 2015, 03:56:47 PM
Our boy Sam went to the bridge today. He had 2 surgeries for IVDD last July and Monday he had a recurrence with pain and spasms. Tuesday evening the pain was worse and not responding to oral meds so we took him to the Iowa State Veterinary Clinic where he was operated on Thursday. He seemed to be recovering well, but aspirated some regurgitation this morning and aspiration pneumonia took him late this afternoon. He was our only dog since Sophie passed two years ago. How does a small dog fill so much of the house? Our house seems so empty now. He was a good boy and my close companion since my retirement. Our hearts are broken.

I am sorry. Nothing can ease the pain of a dear friend's passing. I'll be thinking about you all.

Rich & Deb,

I am so sorry to read this.  I have been wondering how Sam was doing but didn't anticipate this.  I know Stormy and Sophie were there to greet him.

We're sorry to hear about Sam's passing.   I know after we lost the last of our original trio, it was quite a bizarre feeling.   I hope the pain of his passing soon fades so that the happy memories of all your puppers remain.

Rich and Deb: we are so very saddened at your news and our hearts are heavy knowing how sorely Sam will be missed.  Small in stature and huge of heart and character, it is almost unbearable when they leave us with such empty hearts and homes.
Thanks for sharing Sam with us over the years, Sophie and Stormy are sure to be keeping him safe now, we hope your pain is relieved in time by all the wonderful memories you have shared and the ideal life you were able to give him.
