Title: Simon's a cone-head
Post by: Norman on May 31, 2014, 08:45:55 AM
My little wiggly had a ruptured anal gland yesterday.Just got back from the vets.Cephalexin twice a day by syringe...thank god no pills.Neosporin on his bum along with warm compresses and of course a cone on his head.Poor little fella wants out to play so bad but we don't want his bum getting dirty and the cone kind of makes it hard to play with his toy.Going to be a long two weeks for my buddy.

Sorry to hear about his bottom problem sending Hugs and Rays bottoms need help too, Rescue Remedy might help with the anxiety over the cone.

Cone is no issue. We actually took it off him for a bit today and he had no desire to go back there but it'll go back on when he's not supervised.Healing-wise Simon is doing well.

Simon had his two week follow up yesterday and he's healing pretty well.He still had some "stuff" in his glands and so the vet recommended going back to his old lite food and get him off the senior.

Glad to hear his recovery is going well.  We know these things are not quick to heal and poor little mite must have been awfully uncomfortable.  Here's hoping his special food helps and everything clears up well.
