Dis is Porky Pie and I'm crying for help from all my friends! My mean mama and dad are CR@ZY! They keep on acting like they are going to rub my belly. Then when they get me rolled over, all they do is poke at me. That is not nice! They are worried about this bumpy thing on my chest and have to poke it and clean it, then circle it with a marker. Um...I don't know what's going on,but iffen they are just going to wash it off, why do they keep marking it? Humans make no sense! The fun part is I get hugs and treats afterwards, but I keep hearing the dreaded word...."VET". I even heard mom say, "Hi Doctor Bill," when she was being sneaky on the phone during potty time. Guess we have a big snow coming so I got out of the vet visit today, he's too busy. But I heard something about Monday. I'll go, but he better tell them to quit poking my ribs, it tickles!
Hi everyone. A few weeks ago we found a lump on Porky's chest. It was small and soft, but after checking it daily, it has grown and is slightly harder. Because of his history of malignant oral tumors, we are concerned enough to have it checked out. At this point, we are hoping for a harmless fatty lump, but preparing ourselves for worse just in case. He will be 9 (already!!!) in a little over a month, so we're hoping it's just "old dog" lumps showing up. The lump went from pea sized and squishy, to nickel sized and more firm. I'm just questioning the fatty lump thing since Porky is pretty thin and always has been. Can they still get them even if they are at a normal weight? We would appreciate any rays you can send our way.
Rays and hugs from us to Porky we will be hoping for good news soon. Patches, Buddy & Papbouv
Wow, I had it in my mind that Porky was still a youngster. Rays coming your way for a good report from the Vet.
Well the vet gave me a belly rub, tiny poke and then said I'm just fine. Something about a fatty tumors and I might just be a lumpy dog from now on. Then I heard "teeth" so I clamped my jaw shut and wouldn't let him see my back ones. He tried to trick me with a really tasty looking lamb treat, but I saw right through it and refused. :headbang: He said the teeth he could see looked okay. Then I got to sit on his lap. At first I was scared he was going to do something else. Pretty soon I decided hes an okay dude. Still wondering how I made it outta there without the button squeeeze, shots, or toe chops! I wasn't even missing any more teeth! I think its cause the vet had fun stealing a kitty's teeth before I got there. :dontknow: Maybe this vet thing isn't so scary after all.
Glad you gots a goods reports my big brother s in lumpy and me too I gots three lumps myself Patches so donts feel alone with the lu,mpys.
That's a pretty typical spot for a lipoma on dachsies. Max-angel got one early...scared the bejeezes out of me. As he got older, he got more and more of them to the point where we nicknamed him "Grandpa Lumpy". Zeke seems to be headed that way, too, now that he is getting older.
