I posted this picture last night under Julie's original post but it was too dark. Here it is, new and improved. You can see that Hallie and Gretchen have the same texture, but Gretchie's hair is just a LITTLE shorter! My poor LH wannabe!

Ohhh look at the black and tan sisters!!
It's interesting to see the differences in the tan markings too. I am always checking that out on black and tans now, it really varies. Gretchen has a really nice feel to her coat though, you just want to keep petting her. I never have thought of her as a short-longhair she's a gorgeous girl. She had more coat as a pup than Hallie did when I got her, and I got her as an older pup than Gretch was when you got her. Must be the colder weather we have up here LOL.
Do I hear Ilsa back there going "YEAH..but check out my BEARD!!!"
Sorry about the size. Must remember 'preview' button! Yeah, Ilsa says she might have short hair, but she doesn't need as much brushing - and that's just fine with her!
I think Amy fall's between the two. Maybe we have triplets.....
Ohhhh Roberta, Amy is so beautiful!!! To me it looks like she has a very correct coat. Do you think of it as fuzzy? It looks silky and shiney to me. And she has a little different markings yet. I have heard that if there are more reds or sables in their background, the tan markings will be larger but don't know if that's really true. I love this photo of her with the white flowers.
LOL it's a good thing that Gretchen happens to be the one who likes to be brushed and Ilsa not! :thumb:
What pretty black and tan girrrrrrrls!!
Here is Miss Sophie my one and only black & tan
Ohhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
I'm melting into a puddle here! OMG she is DARLING!
Gotta love the black & tan girrrrrls!!  Did i mention Soph is a camera ham too?
That is Sarah in the background .. she's always on patrol
Oh, Roberta! Amy is adorable! DD's right - the markings are all 3 different. She has a very luxurious coat. Can Gretchie have some?
oh, Sophie! You're gorgeous!!!!! Jen, she's beeeeyoootiful!
Ms sopie you are beautiful and you footsies.
Yes Dee she has a shiney coat but a THICk whispy under coat, that photo was taken on a good day.
Amy hates getting brushed but loves the attention.
Do you notice they all have the same look. Ingird was like haillie in markings Amy is missing the tan on the front.
Nick sometimes calls her dark vader.
Roberta
amy here, but its tuggy and I have to sit for a long time,a dn I don't like people even mum getting near my private parts.

Superpuff!
and as a nine month old pup...

(Zuzu's the one on the right LOL--scared of the baby kitty!)
Sophie!! What a cute shot of her lil face! Her markings are much like Hallies in the face but Hallie has more chest tan I think. All of Hallie's tan is clear, even the feet, with no black mixed in, which I haven't seen much in the black and tans here anyway. Sarah is looking great too! You have such a good looking group!
Dark Vader...LOL that's hilarious. I agree Roberta they do have the same look. When I had Jessie who was a red sable, I just never saw too many black and tans and didn't notice the marking differences, now I see they are quite apaprent. Poor Amy, not liking the tuggies of brushing! I think Hallie loves it so much because she is a little itchy from her allergies all the time (the shots help her a ton but she's a little itchy still, not bad though). So the brushing probably feels real good on her. She hasn't been ouchy at any parts. In fact she comes running when I'm in the bathroom, turns and sits with her back to me waiting for her brushing and if I sit in the living room to dry my hair, she comes and sits in front of me with her back turned too.
ZUZU!! LOL!!! Superpuff! She has glorious hair! Boy in her puppy pic (which so ADORABLE with that kitten by the way) you would have thought she'd grow up with silky hair. Hallie's hair wasn't anything like that when I got her, it was almost a wirey coat except no beard. Did Zuzu get that coat after she was spayed? I think it's wonderful, very pretty and she looks very huggable!!! I love how it lightens as it goes down. She doesn't have much sabling at all.
The super puff reminds me of Angus, he realy puffed up on brushing.
What a deep red rich red you were Zuzu as a pupper. See you've managed to keep the same collar or are you all colour coded.
Roberta
Now,what kind of coat would you call this?????????????? This is eLlIe about 6 months old.
We are trying to let her grow out for the winter .... BUT ..... her hair just goes in all directions .... she doesn't have a real wire coat... just the soft undercoat ..... U-N-I-Q-U-E (http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/frizz1.gif) (http://www.millan.net)
does THIS count as a longhair?

"Humiliatin', ain't it?"
 And is it true? Do blonds have more fun ?

Ellie, it doesn't matter what kind of hair we would call that. The bottom line is you are ADORABLE!! She reminds me of a schnauzer coat. She really does have a unique coat, but it's darling.
LOL Loki! That does count for "something" but in Loki's mind, I think it counts for a present left on Mommy's bed later on... :thumb: Too cute! :afro:
Brekke has a cute little chocolate triangle in the middle of her lower jaw - must take a picture! Any black/tans with a marking under the chin? Enquiring minds wanna know!

Loki has a perfect elongated diamond under her chin. Also as you can see from her silly picture, she has perfect pointy "Sleeves" on her front legs.
On another note, in ancient times, B&T's with spots of tan over their eyes were called "four-eyed" dogs and were thought to have second sight. Because the hearing and scent capabilites of dogs were generally uknown, and most B&T's ARE hounds, after all, it makes sense to believe that they were magical. I know Loki can make a pork chop disappear![/b]
Leslie, NO THE WIG DOESN'T COUNT AS LONG HAIR! :thumb:

That's what was left of "ducky"
Zuzu, you are CUTE! She really does look like (in her puppy picture) she would have a shiney coat as an adult. Funny how it changed that much. It doesn't matter, though, Zu, you are a very pretty young lady!
Ellie, you're a cute wire girl! That B/T wires have such expression because of the tan markings on the face.
What a GREAT bunch of pictures !!!! I love them all and LOVE all the coats !!!
