Title: dentals
Post by: Brekkesmom on September 10, 2013, 11:57:21 AM
Hi, all!  I mostly post on Facebook, but thought I'd stop in since all four of the furkids are at the vets', today.  They had blood panels run, and Brekke, Rowan, and Robinton need to get their alkaline phosphatase (sp) rechecked in about a month.  Bastian has a pea-sized tumor on the underside left of his tongue - which the vet called to update and ask if I wanted it taken out now, while he was under.  It will be removed and sent off for biopsy.  Rowan is coming out of anesthesia, Robbie and Brekke are getting cleaned now, Bastian is cleaned and getting that tumor out, so I am relieved.  Dr. Betts said she figured it was quite an undertaking to get all four in for this, and I am just hoping for all four to have nice smelling breath at the same time.  I did clean out the refrigerator and feed the hummingbirds.  I always like to clean the refrigerator bins and shelves on a spa day, so I figured with all of them gone for about 5 hours, I could actually do that to keep busy.
   Have a great day!

Is everyone home now glaring at you?  Either that or they're demanding  a nice soft boiled egg EACH for their trubble.

Tee hee, Sandy - I actually had no glares - Brenda went with me to fetch them, and we got home about 6.  Dinner was pureed chicken breast and green beans - about 1/3 cup each.  After a half hour to let that settle, I got out meds.  All but Brekke get Clyndamycin, an antibiotic.  She had a good report and no extractions.  Everyone gets Tramadol for pain, but different amounts.  The prescriptions were  labelled with all dogs and amounts, so I didn't have to pay for separate bottles!  Bastian also had a papillae-something snipped and stitched on one of his gums. All are snoozing away now.  (The total bill was two mortgage payments- before I paid off my house!)

We had a call from the vet this afternoon, and she said the "tumor" was downgraded to a polyp, and everything was B-9, if you get my drift.

Good to hear the report about Bastian.  I know that is a relief.  It must be so much fun to get the babies to the vet.  I only have 1 and it's like drama queen meets Godzilla.  Glad everyone is home and doing well.

What a relief all round.  Hope you can all relax and recover now.  Taking two to the vet is stressful congrats on managing everyone so well.
