Title: New brother
Post by: doxielady5569128 on July 30, 2013, 08:19:43 AM
Porky here:  I have a new brother!!!   :apls:  I gotta say though, he is funny looking. Somebody made him teeny tiny and gave him feathers.   :dontknow: I never saw a dog like it before.  Poor dude, has to stay in his kennel all the time.  He must have been super naughty! My mama always tells him, "Jack's a good boy."  If he's so good, why is he in that kennel??  I'm so confused!  Anyway, this new brother is noisy!!  He squeaks at me when mama is at werk.  I'd rather sleep, but he just makes so much racket.  The really strange thing is sometimes he whispers things to me in human talk.  He never says it loud, but he does whisper, "Good, good boy! Tweet Tweet boy!"  I think the dude likes me.   My mama says he is  called a budgie and his name is Cap'n Jack.   We will get some pictures of him and post them on here after he gets more settled.

Great news but can feathered brothers share treats with you?  Don't suppose you get to play with him much yet either - be gentle when you do!

Glad to hear you sounding so perky.

Parker here: dude, I fink your brudder might me a bird     Da birds in Canada stay outside wif da squirls and da black and white kitties. Birds are fun for chasing, but dey can peck at you. I'm not allowed to chase da ducks cause dey are bigger den me. Is Jack a duck. He will be berry big den, or maybe a budgie. You can boss a budgie around if your Momma will let you. Momma say I has to be kind to da birds, but dey are awful teases and always getting me in twble.

Yes, we can share da treats, he gets a carrot and mama gives me one too.  Same with da other veggies he gets.  :headbang:  And that's where the awesome part ends.   I don't like my mama talking nice to him.  And he gets this cool looking paper thingy on the floor under his cage.  Not fair, so I shredded it.  That'll teach him.    Except he didn't seem to care when I did that.  He never says anything to me, just stares at me. As  long as he doesn't get my dog food, I think we'll stay on good terms.

Here's a link to a very special feathered "Brudder." His name is Marni & he talks quite a lot! You may see one or more of HIS brudders & wonder why some don't have a lot of feathers. They were rescued brudders & lost their feathers because of stress. But they are all very happy! Enjoy! (look for all the chessawoo videos of Marni!)

Thanks, Auntie Keren!!! We lubs it.  My brudder isn't talking to me yet, he just chatters and chirps.  He does still whisper , "Tweet, tweet boy" but won't say anything else yet.   I is mad now though!!  My mama has been feeding him out of her hand, two or three times a day!  'Scuse me, but she doesn't do that for me.  Just throws mine in a bowl.   She says its so Jack will trust her and learn to speak. So I figure iffen she wants him to speak, I'll stand by his cage and barks.  He seems to like it; he always chirps really loud with me. As long as this new feathered brudder doesn't get my couch time, we'll be okay.

Schatzi has a budgie brother at her house now, too. His name is Skye and he moved in when Pops did. She didn't like him and wanted to eat him when she saw him at pops house, but doesn't seem to care now that he is here.
I would love to be able to give Skye treats, but e is picky and ignores them. Be nice to your new buddy. Maybe you can teach him to bark!
