Porky here: Iz scared!! Dis morning I was sleeping...er...protecting my mama in da big bed. All of a sudden, I hear dis strange noise, sounds like a dragon. So of course, I start barking and yapping up a storm to warn my mama. Den pretty soon we hear lots of those "dragon" noises. I was so freaked out!!!! My mama looked out da window and started laffing at me. Um...NOT NICE!!! She finally had to put me outside in the yard so I could watch what was going on. Our town has a hot air balloon rally this weekend, and several of the balloons were landing close to our yard. One guy was stuck right above our roof for a while. There were lots of people parked in our driveway trying to direct the balloons to safe landing spots and help them pack up when they finally did land. I had tons of fun barking at all the balloons and people. One guy, came over to my mom and said he loved watching me be a "true doxie". He told us he has 4 at his house in Arizona and they go fly in his balloon sometimes. Tomorrow the balloons will be out again, so we will see if they land at our house again. :xfinger:
Just protecting your momma like a good boy your momma should not laugh at you hope you get to watch the dragons tomorrow.
Rudy-angel used to go nuts over kites. He would try to chase them, even though he was stuck on the ground while the kites flew around, seemingly unperturbed by his protests. It was kind of funny watching a dachshund running and barking at full tilt with his head cocked 90 degrees skyward.
Ooooh, we know how loud those "dragons" can be!
Mark and I once decided to stay in these train cabooses that had been converted to a B & B. The price was right and it was in Yountville, middle of Napa wine country. While the literature about the place mentioned watching the hot air balloons, never did it say they were blown up right next door to the place. So at 5 in the morning, we hear the dragon roar. It was really quite entertaining. I had never been that close to a balloon and they were HUGE and really "hissed.".
Porky, don't let your mommy put you in one of those balloons. You might end up in Kansas or Oz or some other place where you'd have to click your paws to get yourself home.
As for me? I'm not riding in one of those things. I have a tremendous fear of heights and have a problem when I'm more than 5 inches of the ground.
