Anyone there, Patches has taken to screaming out like in pain but I cannot determine where neck or back she does not do it all the time nor any certain movements I did the foot flip test all feet turn back quickly ? Tonight she screamed going down the steps 2 steps to the back yard ( yes tried to get the old man to put a ramp in the back he said no would be in his way) He has most of the monies no way will turn loose of any for a dog. I put Patches crate in my room started crate rest right away so far no paralysis just the screaming out????? I will carry her in and out go potty on a leash any more ideas??? Yes looked around on Dodgers List thought I would ask here.
So sorry to hear this. It sounds awfully like a trapped nerve possibly due to disc problems. I would get her to the vet asap and keep her crated and safe till you can. An antiinflammatory and muscle relaxant could help her feel more comfortable. We knownhow worrying this is and hope all goes well.
This is always so heart breaking to us parents and painful and confusing to the puppers. Hope you get her to a vet ASAP and in the meantime, try to keep her still. Rays your way.
Clifford went through similar even after his 3rd blown disc surgery. It was always a pinched nerve in neck and prednisone and methcarbomol (I think) helped greatly.
Rays coming for Patches.
Thanks for the rays so far no screams today very unnerving for me when she does it I have been keeping Patches & Buddy apart neither understands why but Buddy is a big klutz does not watch where he is walking. The old man keeps saying it is Buddy's fault but he hates Buddy anyway. I will see how things are Monday since the old man broke his neck I dropped my pet insurance should have kept it.
Hope Patches is doing better. I hope your hubby decides to help. I would probably tell him you need the ramp or if you fall carrying the dog in and out he will have much bigger bills to worry about.
