We have really been going through a lot of feeding problems. I feed a premium wholesome grain dog food, but one of our doxie's just got out of the "hospital" with pancreatitis. Poor baby was really a sick puppy. They gave us ID to feed him, which he will NOT eat. I've made boiled rice, chicken, green beans and a tablespoon of pumpkin. He likes this. I will continue to feed him this for a couple of days and then begin to gradually mix in some low fat Nulo for the next several days before we finally make the total switch to Nulo Trim.
My friends Yorker/Pekingese mix had pancreatitis. The vet put him on Blue Buffalor weight control. It has the lowest amou t or fat of any of the foods and he likes it. He does fine as long as he eats that and doesn't get treats. If he has anything with very much fat in it at all, he will start getting sick again.
I hope your doxie feels better soon.
Wellness small dog weight control is also a good food.
Its not only feeding its there whole life no bones no treats unless you know the fat content, not much made, and informing EVERYONE that knows jnr NO FOOD other than what I say, remembering they don't pay the Vet bills. Canon Id low fat wet and dry. amy gets about 15 dry bits with two tablespoons wet for breakfast and the same for dinner no wet this time but LOW fat zero fat mince a good dollop. Treats I bang out kangaroo or chicken fillets till they are thin and slow dry them. If you have another dog treat it the same. if I cannot says its fat free she don't get it, and get their patoot moving.
