Title: Hey, what's everyone doing?
Post by: Mike on April 23, 2013, 11:23:13 AM
It's kinda quiet here.  I guard the yard through the window or maybe take a nap if Grandma or Auntie are available.  What's everydog doing?

The Zs have been on the trail of a very large hare that has taken up residence near our backyard.   It may be related to the Easter Bunny as the Zs are often finding the "treats" left behind.

Patches here Mom says I'm going to a groomer in the morning never been to a groom so do not know if I'm going to like it or not Mom usually puts a towel on the washing machine brushes and combs me out, then she stuffs me in the sink ,squeezes my butt, cleans my ears, brushes my teeth, gives me a bath then dries me with the vacuum cleaner she has one that blows air. Mom says I'm so fluffy (spay coat) she no longer knows what to do with all my fuzzy hair. Dad mows then I try my best to bring all of the grass clipping in the house I do not like Mom brushing and combing me every single time I come back in the house it interferes with my naps. Will let you know when I get back tomorrow from the grooming thing. Mom here I have read you are not suppose to trim long hairs, read you can trim them so its really hard to know what to do this year Patches seems more fluffy fuzzy &  she is not a show dog and last summer Tulsa was hotter than AZ.

Patches mom here only time will tell how this works out it was fuzzy & getting curly so can't get any worse than it was. They said at the groomer's Patches was a good girl no problems, the lady at the desk said Dachshunds are usually really good or really bad clients I use to take my Bouvier s there so knew them before I went there.

This is Parker
I am berry berry busy keeping da squirrels out of MY backyard. Momma won't let me chase the ducks that are swimming in MY pool, and she won't let me invite da black and white kitty into the house to play. I'm not eben allowed to sniff da kitty and it looks berry friendly. It just needs a good bath!!! cause it's kind of stinky. Momma says da warm weather is coming, and I am very excited about that. We have lots of pool parties, which means lots of people to play with me.
I am also training for da weiner races again. I hope to finish at least. Momma says I do very good considering the distractions. At least I didn't behave beastly like two of the other weiners in the race. It also helped me to be third last in the race.
I am also saving my money so I can shop for toys at weinerfest. I earn money by protecting the house while Mommy and Daddy are at work. I do a berry good job.
That's it for now.
     Parker.

So...if there are no "treats" do the Z's consider that a Bad Hare Day?

Dad say's I'm pretty solid but I need to lose a little.  My skin is kinda loose around my neck so Dad wonders if I was a porker early in my life.

Hunter has decided that he LOVES dandelion roots.  Sunday I was popping out some of the pesky things and he wandered by me and grabbed one and took off to chomp it down.  The rest of the day he was watching me verrrry closely to see if he could snag some more.  Last night he was sniffing a dandelion flower, nibbled it and decided that was pretty good as well.

Clever boy and close to British roots: dandelion and burdock make such a lovely drink and dandelion has always been a great root and leaf vegetable too.  Just shows you how much these little angels know.  Ask your Nanna from Ayrshire about Dandelion and Burdock and salads too.  She is sure to know...nice to hear he is enjoying gardening with you.  I smile too when I think of Clifford pottering there and like to think he still is.

Btw I forgot to mention that Islay does all my snipping back of herbs and edible flowers here: we are on the sea front here in Spain with a large terrace but - sadly - no garden, so Islay does the daily round of the pots and troughs she can reach ( bougainvillas, prickly roses, feijoas, jasmines, honeysuckle out of reach) and nibbles on estragon ( tarragon), parsley, chives, coriander, dill, melissa, mint....violas, lavender, rosemary, thyme, lemon thyme, violets, roses, lemon and orange blossoms, courgette ( zucchini) flowers, endives, chicory, radicchio, lambs lettuce, butter lettuce, ruccula ( rocket), jasmine flowers, freesia blooms, honeysuckle blooms....

And then I wonder why she doesn't always finish her bowl of Orijen organic fish dried food!  Her analysis are always perfect and her teeth and coat too.

Red uses the plants for semi- shaded lounging...

Tell Hunter he is onto a good thing in every possible way.
