Title: Simon's eye
Post by: Norman on March 08, 2013, 06:16:35 AM
Been awhile since my last post.

A few days ago we noticed Simon's right eye was watering which in itself is nothing unusual this time of year but yesterday noticed a small lump under his eye. This morning it was larger but he appears to be in no pain and acting like his normal self. Now that Simon is almost 14 anything and everything that is not usual scares me so I made the call to the vet and he's going in at 9:20 this morning.

I hope my little wiggly is going to be ok.

Every best wish and warm Spanish rays heading your way for a quick and easy solution.  Please let us know how Simon does at the vets.
We are in full bloom of Spring here and I frequently have to help my two get something out of their eyes or clean around their eyes with so much pine, almond and lemon pollen around, amongst other stuff, hope it is as simple as that.

Simon has an abscess above a tooth that has a small crack in it.Doc said two weeks on Clindamycin 75g and once the infection is under control he'll extract the tooth.

So nothing to do with his eye thank goodness. but still upsetting to say the least.

Softened food and NO TOY for awhile. He's going to be so sad not to be able to play with his toy.

Clifford had an abcessed tooth at about the same age as Simon and he pulled through just fine.  Rays coming for the same result.  Is Dad gonna make eggs for breakfast?

When the little "egg dish" comes out, which isn't very often,Simon goes insane.Eggs are his favorite especially poached,he goes nuts when he sees the poaching pan too.

Simon was checked out yesterday and the infection is completely clear. The doc is really insisting on NOT taking the tooth out,he prefers to see if the infection will return before removing it.

If the infection were to return my little wiggly would have to go through the whole anti-biotic regiman again.I guess from my point of view if the infection is clear now, remove the tooth now.Simon's been seeing the same vet all his life and the vet has never done anything that has given me cause for concern so I guess I'll sit tight and wait for now.

I'm glad Simon's eye (tooth) is better.  Glad he's wiggly again.

Bonnie sends slurpies to Simon.
