We have been extra careful with our little guy since he went down with back pain in September. Well the nasty pain showed up again Friday evening (of course after our vet closed for the weekend!) :doah: We had a big snowstorm rolling in, so I'm pretty confident the air pressure and colder weather brought on the pain. His little back is arching like before, but the pain does not seem as severe as before. Just mornings and nighttime is when the worst pain hits. So we are using up the last of his anti-inflammatory today and have been doing crate rest all weekend. Porky is letting us know just how dissatisfied he is with the crate rest. Hopefully I can call the vet and get a refill on Porky's meds without an appointment tomorrow.
We are checking into the pricing, etc... for a vet here locally that does acupuncture in dogs. :dontknow: We have also been having Porky on apple cider vinegar to help with the inflammation. We have noticed a difference in wheezing and a tiny bit of pain reduction. I really don't like the idea of medicating him long term since his back issues are not severe. Our vet is fairly confident that Porky's back will remain stable as long as we continue being super careful! His back issues are Stage I or maybe stage II on the really bad days! We literally went months with having him totally back to normal before this happened again.
I just with we had a vet certified in hydrotherapy for backs here. I am trying to do some at home, but Porky is very resistant to it.
Sorry to hear that Porky is having problems again. Rays coming from Iowa.
All our love and rays to all three of you. You all deserve a break at last and some really good luck all around. All our best for a sound recovery for Porky Pie, hopefully without expensive meds, and feeling better very soon.
Rays heading your way Porky. Hopefully a speedy recovery.

Thanks everyone! We are going to try and get Porky to actually walk in the tub this evening. He will swim in a lake, but put him in the tub and he stands there crying. :dontknow: We are trying carrots and toys to bribe him into walking in the bathtub. His back seems better this afternoon so hopefully this was related to this big snowstorm we got.
Parker: Da steaks sound amazing!! My mama got me some venison wet food so I gets a tiny bit as a snack. I could eat dat whole can in one gulp its soooo yummy! Hopefully your mama isn't making you wear da dumb winter sweaters!!! Mine is making me cause she thinks it helps my back not hurt. :idiot: Ill rest up so I can chomp dat vet if he pokes my ouchie back.
