I wrote back quite a while back that Bonnie was having toenail trouble and a trip to the vet (the great NEW one across the street) ended up in amputation of that nail. We did return once for a look see and a little clipping, as it seems to be growing back a bit. Here's the challenge. We need to keep that paw out of Bonnie's mouth as she just wants to groom and care for it. This results in two steps back in the healing when we turn our backs and she's at it again. I have been such a wimp about the cone but it's really the only way the paw will heal but it breaks my heart because she looks so sad and will shake and quiver when she wears it. It's more of a soft innertube than a cone. The thing is, this mommy must be TUFF. I'm hoping that if I can keep her in the tube for one more week, we'll be home free. Tell me I'm giving too many human feelings to my dog. Mark is much better with seeing that she is coned properly at all times, except for eating, drinking (she can drink with it) and going potty. Also, if we're watching tv, and she is still, she can have a reprieve. Anyone else have the challenge of the awful cone?
cut panthose off above the knee pull it over the paw and cut down abit to give you tie offs. We used to do this with emma the really bad times we used two and tied accross her back. Also used two on at a time to really stop her getting it off.
That sounds interesting, Roberta. I'll have to try it. Thanks!
