Title: Where is everybody???????
Post by: peterparker on November 26, 2012, 06:02:20 AM
Hey, what's going on, where is everybody??????????
We're doing fine here in Ontario. Parker is being extra good, not sure why. We managed to get through Thanksgiving, and now it's time for Christmas. I've got most of my shopping done and wrapped.
It's interesting how Parker knows exactly what gifts are his. I'm sure he can't read.
I wrote the names directly on the packages, as Parker has a thing for pulling tags and bows off when we are not looking. We are not going to go through that again ...... opening gifts, and they handing them to the right person lol.
Anyways, updates people and wieners!!!!!!!!!!

dis is Parker: I am being a berry good boy. Santa paws is coming and I am trying really hard!!!!!!!!!!!

Dis is Bonnie and I am now enjoying a glorious retirement.  At this very moment, I have my bottom sticking out from under my favorite quilt on my favorite futon.  This is my favorite position for MUCH of the day.  I don't hear the doggies barking next door anymore.  Mommy says I have gone deef.  Well, I AM 14 years old.  Also, I don't see so good anymore but I do know how to wag my tail wildly and I do know how to beg for treats.  Mommy says I'm a YOY (yittle ol' yady) most of the time but spring to life when FOOD is involved.  Have a good day Mr. Parker.  Kisses to you!

Sandi here.  We are doing well here.  Both still working....that's always good.  I may GET to go to a more part time status next year.  That would be a good thing for me.  Haven't heard much about it lately so it's a wait and see.  I would welcome it.

Have a good week all!

Sandi, Mark and BONNIE aka Bunny.

We were thinking the same thing since.  Glad to hear Parker is showing such exemplary behaviour.  Santa Paws is obviously going to be thrilled and Parker too on Christmas Day.

We have no Thanksgiving here so no extra treats, poor, poor us, but the daytime temperatures are so comfy we are enjoying sunbathing on the terrace and watching our spring bulbs coming through.  Islay loves nibbling the basil and salad leaves we keep seeding and planting and I, Red, love snoozing under the honeysuckle.

Mummy and Daddy say business is bad and that is why we have not been able to go drive to see Nana in the U.K. For two and a half years now.  Nana is staying in the U.k. For Christmas but Mummy is trying to get not too expensive flights for her to come and spoil us here in January or February so she can escape the coldest weather.  We sssooooooo wish she could bring her lovely garden and house with her.  We are fed up of walking on the seafront and mountains here and not having our own garden and hills.  We miss Gail and Tristan and Ivy too.  We need more work so we can get to see everyone again.

If any dachsie pals want a sunny Christmas with us in Spain, this is the time to book, looks like we will be on our own otherwise and we have loads of sunny rays and some treats and cuddles and comfy beds to share.

It is great Bonny bunny is snuggling seriously and keeping up on the food controls.  A reduction in working hours for Sandy would certainly mean more tummy rubs and snuggling for Bonny.  That is what we call quality time.

Love to all our pals,

Islay & Red

We're still here.......still adjusting to Sargey not being with us since his passing on October 8.  Duggie is adjusting to being an only pupper but he misses his buddy just as Mom and Dad do.  Since, he doesn't have Sargey as his buddy any longer, he has adopted Reagan to be his new buddy during the week.  Duggie is velcroed to us when Reagan is not here.  Reagan is now 16 months old and it's fun to watch Duggie and her......they both love each other very much and Duggie is so good with her.  Reagan is with us Monday-Friday all day so she is keeping us on our toes! And, that is keeping us busy!  Dave is doing good and is having a blast with Reagan!  I'm doing good also trying to keep up with everyone in addition to getting the house/yard ready for winter.  I also just finished up making/sewing 30 book bags for Cassie's second grade class.......now on to some Christmas gifts that I want to get sewed up!  So, we are here.......still come to visit but haven't posted a lot......I will promise to do better in the future!

Not much going on in the world of Zeke and Zora land.   Jessica is getting bigger, seemingly by the day.   The Zs tan points are whitening out as they approach the cusp of Senior Weinerdom.   Other than that, things are pretty much same-old, same-old.

FaceBook isn't bad if you know what you are doing - don't post anything you don't want others to see.  I keep in touch with my family and friends that way and have only had one problem when a 30 something cousin of mine decided to post something that was a hoax/spam(for lack of a better word) to her friends' timelines and everyone got hit, just changed  my password and updated my settings, no more problems.  Facecrooks is someone great to check out on Facebook they give the info on all the scams and problems on it.

As for Keren she posts on FaceBook mostly.  I sent her a message after the mess in the ME last week and she aid she was fine.

Well, Guinness here wif da update. Sleeping in Auntie Keren's chair all day is hard work. Den I gets to sleep early. Auntie Keren has to take me out like five times a day to tinkle. I get to poop in her shower room - she says dat's fine, she can pick it up & rinse da floor wif the shower head. Is this TMI?

Yes, it is!!! We're doing fine - I am living in Jerusalem, far away from the fighting. People living in the south have had to live with daily rocket attacks & air raid sirens for the last six years. We are praying that the ceasefire holds. I have a nice one bedroom apartment on the ground floor of a house. The courtyard has three front doors & a staircase that leads to the second floor. I'm still unpacking. It's hard to shoehorn everything from a family of eight to just one person. What am I going to do with all the kitchenware??

Merlin & Beau are retired in North Carolina, enjoying the good life. My daughter is buying me a Powerball ticket. As G-d says, " Meet me halfway - buy a ticket!" if I win, I'm hosting a wiener writings extravaganza! All flights paid for & we get all our puppers together!!

Love you all - Auntie Keren

umm, you probably don't want to know this, but I have not only finished my Christmas shopping, I have wrapped all but one thing I am waiting for, via Fed Ex.  It is the first time in my life I have done this!  Also, I find much of my time is taken up by letting dachsies in and out - since 3 of 4 hospitalization in late September - they barely get outside without me to patrol first!  Hi, to everyone - and Auntie Keren, we are glad to hear from you - we had been wondering!

Danni here,

Da mama ands I are fine.  It has turned cold(who, turned off the heat outside), but that means I gets to snuggle under the couch throw wif mama.  Udder den that nuffin is too new.

Marcia here,

As Danni said we are fine, despite my arthritis getting worse, but I deal with it.  I still work a bit, but am now working on a top secret project that I hope to launch come 2013, I can't say anymore, I don't want to jinx it.  Anyway that's it from the Mitten, for now.

We are so glad you are here with us.  Was thinking of today especially as I took my latest batch of shortbread out of the oven.  Made whisky and grapefruit marmalade this morning too! Whisky and orange tomorrow, perhaps a wee dram to absent friends tonight ...

Sounds like a good day to drop by...do you use single malt scotch for the marmalade?  I recently tasted rye whiskey and liked it.
I've made 4 batches of shortbread so far this season.  My co-workers alternately swear at me and lay down at my feet when I take some to work.  Latest is for the reception following this afternoon's Holiday concert.

I know what you mean about the shortbread, it does dissapear quickly,  I find a batch a week is too little right now.  Even my othodontist asked if I could possibly take some to my next braces tightening.

I always use single malt: a good smoky Islay for the grapefruit; a fruity Glenmorangie or similar for Orange and a lighter Speyside for mandarin.

Wish you could just drop by to try some along with a wee dram or so.  Hot home smoked salmon with orange marmalade whisky glaze and potato cakes for lunch today.  Rye whisky sounds interesting, I have only tried Wild Turkey I think, perhaps we should have a tasting session one chilly evening.  Are you free to travel till the dachsiepult finds you?

Hello from Pennsylvania!!!
Great to hear from everyone--we should do this more often!  We need pictures, too!

Zuzu is doing well and will be 12 in January. (!!!!!!) The vet advised we start giving her some arthritis supplements and it has added a noticeable spring her step. She JUMPS off of the footstool on occasion when she hears daddy's car.  And, also NO MORE rawhides since she is really having a hard time with them now.  Bully Sticks are her new favorite.
Still runs around the yard and chases chippies--which everyone knows King Sol says: "Everything smaller than me that is not a bunny is a chippie."

We are as ready as we can for Christmas so far!  I love on-line shopping.  Stores. In. December. Do. Not Want.

p.s. Peter Parker you are really being a good boy, 'cause we know that YOU know which prezzies are your.

    and warm wishes for the Holiday Season, and may 2013 be healthy and prosperous for everyone.

Hello Everybody!
The mamma and the daddy and I had been very busy getting ready for lots of changes in da house. First off, we all decided day my papa would come to live wif us in a few months. He is just too lonely by himself, and he can't see very well. They told me some people are going to be building a new room and a new bafroom on da house for him to lib in. That means I will have people to bark at for 3 months! They are also going to mess up backyard for awhile, but make it better when da building is done.
Then we have da bestest news of all! My Hussites, Meghan, is moving back to Greenville! She got a job as a School Based therapist here, something she has wanted to do since she got her masters degree. She is going to move in with us for about four months and then get her own place to live, that means I have another person to snuggle with. Mamma said something about her empty nest not being empty anymore! I think she may be afraid it is going to be a little crowded. I am being a very good girl and daddy is taking me for walks all the time. I am slim and trim and doing pretty good for a nine year old little girl.

From Teresa-yes, things are changing around here. iI am not sure how ready we are for them, but we will soon find out. I am excited to have Meg back. She has lived in town only one of the last nine years. We are all smart enough to know that living at home will be temporary. She just needs time to figure out where to live once she gets here. With Randy's dad's health, and my mom showing signs of dementia, Meg felt she needed to be back around her family. My nieces are all growing up so quickly and she really misses them.
Schatzi will not know what to do with so many people to spoil her. I am still trying to get Randy to get his French Bulldog, but he is content with Schatzi being an only dog right now.
I am having fun with my friend and coworker, raising our flock of chickens. We have nine and this summer was a challenge with them.  The heat in the beginning was awful. Hopefully, things will settle down and all of them will be find through the winter.
I hope everyone has a great December. I will try to check in here and post more often.

Ozzy and his family are going the best we can.  In June, our daughter got married, and unknown at the time, it was the last time I saw my father alive.  In September, he suffered a subarachnoid hemmorage (sp?) that was unrecoverable.  We removed life support and he lived for a couple of days before passing away on September 11th.

When we went home for Thanksgiving, Ozzy wandered around the house, as if he was looking for someone.  We believe he was looking for Dad.  Anyway, we are trying to survive the holidays.

Ozzy is doing fine.  He's a little overweight, so I'm feeding him carrots and green beans to get the weight off.  He just turned 10 years old, but still acts like a puppy.  I had to go back to taking him out to potty (and such) on a leash.  He took off, and before I realized it, he was two streets over.  Fortunately the neighbors saw him and brought him back to me.  I figured I'd have to start back with the leash anyway.

Daughter's wedding was beautiful, and we didn't go broke paying for it!  She is living in another state and is teaching 7th grade history, and loves her job.  Cannot ask for more than that!
