It has been a crazy couple of months. Hallie's art is still selling out within seconds of me posting new ones on her web site. Followed by a bunch of emails saying they missed this bunch when will she be posting more. I've been putting up as many as I possibly can while being very careful to not let Hallie get burned out. She's still having fun though. Anderson Cooper's show called and wanted to fly us out to NY for the show but I didn't want to risk that long of a flight with her so they may do it remotely. We've had some magazine interviews and Hallie was on a radio show in Seattle recently. She had a ball. We just got a wonderful package from a Catholic School class in Louisiana. The teacher has doxies so her classroom is decorated in dachshund. How cool is that. She had seen Hallie on TV so they discussed her and overcoming disabilities in class. The kids wanted to send Hallie some things, the box had a pink fabric paint brush holder bag with her name embroidered on it, a squeaky frog, doxie magnets and stamp. The kids all sent paintings they did, they were blindfolded and painted with the paint brush in their mouth just like Hallie does. They sent a photo album with photos of the kids doing this and then holding up their paintings, and they also sent a CD of them painting. The teacher printed out a photo from Hallie's site and traced it and all the kids colored it in, and sent photos of those. And best of all they sent these wonderful (and hilarious) letters and each did a drawing of Hallie and me and her painting at the top of them. I copied some of them down (the spelling is letter for letter from what they wrote). And best of all after Hallie's 2 surgeries this summer, she has gone from not wanting to eat, walking away from her bowl and me having to hand feed her, to eating like a HORSE, licking her bowl clean and acting like a puppy again! Huge blessing!
I'm not sure if my favorite letter is the Prity Pantie, or the Blockade or that she is a painting bog...

Thank you so very much for including us in on what is going on in you lives missed you on Weiner Writings glad Miss Hallie is doing so well and still enjoys painting. She is a great inspiration to the kids all over the USA too bad she cannot have her own 30 minute show showing her painting, nose work all other things she can do she would be a inspiration all over to all children. Patches, buddy & Papbouv
It's just amazing what an ambassador for dachshunds and handicapped dogs Hallie has become. She and Obie (the 77 pound dachshund) are providing inspiration for all kinds of people. Whoever could have imagined what seemed a tragedy has turned out to have this wonderful silver lining. We are so proud of her AND her mom!

HUGE DITTO from us !!!! :apls:
You are right, I had HUGE doubts! I really thought that would be the end of things for us. Never dreamed a blind dog can do these kinds of things.
A friend of my step mom's friend has an 8 yr old lhasa apso who just went blind suddenly from SARDs last week. She is devastated and step moms friend asked me to email her. She is coming over tomorrow to see Hallie's set up (and how well she gets around) since I had no one to talk to that had been thru it when Hallie lost her sight, I feel good I can talk with this lady. She also is interested in starting nosework with him. He's only 8 so he is going to want to keep going and doing I'm sure! I've gotten countless emails from people with SARDs dogs too, I feel for them it's very tough at first.
Oh and the teacher whose class sent us the wonderful box wrote today and said the squeaky frog was because their town is "frog capital" and the kids wanted to send Hallie a real frog but she had to explain to them that it would be a little hard on the frog. :alien:
This is all so great. You just never realize how many people are being touched by Hallie. I really love how the teacher used Hallie to teach her kids about overcoming disabilities, and think it was so sweet for them to send her a package.
Hallie, you need to be careful eating all that food. If you aren't, your mamma is going to put you on a DIET!!!!
LOL I only wish I had to put her on a diet, we've had to fight keeping enough weight on her most of her life. :chef:
We are putting together some photos to send to the kids of her wearing her Harry Potter glasses and "looking" at all of the wonderful things they sent her.
Things are officially slowing down! Yeah!!! We posted 21 new paintings last night and so far only 11 have sold. That is a record, usually no matter how many we put up, they all sell within a few seconds. Glad to have a breather coming up!
