Early yesterday evening Danni wanted to go outside and I decided to join her, so while she played I sat on the porch reading. The next thing I knew the neighbor advised me that Danni was in the front yard. Quickly I ran to the gate and there she was sitting there looking at me and not able to get back in the yard, the gate is finicky and can be opened easily, never was til yesterday. So I opened the gate and in she came, immediately she began doing laps around the yard.
Danni here, since I'm free I wanted to explore the world and when the gate magically opened I saw my chance, but . . . I didn't like it too many things I didn't know then my fwiend and nabor Linda called me to come to her and I got scared and wanted no one, but mama. So when I heard her call me I runnded and then couldn't get in the yard until mama let me in. I will stay in the yard from now on and will never run away again.
That's a very very good girl, Danni. Wow Marcia, she really is devoted to you.
I remember when we were walking Dolly once, when we lived in Santa Rosa, we were at the end on our block looking at a new housing development when this HUGE unleashed Rottie appeared. Scared, Dolly slipped her leash (days before harnesses) and RAN. Fortunately, the Rottie didn't chase her but I was livid that this big dog was off leash. We couldn't find her anywhere and were walking back home to get the car to look for her. When we walked up to our porch, there she was right there at the door, wagging her tail, waiting to get in. I was amazed that she knew her way home since we were about 2-3 blocks away.

That reminds me of the time I had Winston, Murphy and Reilly at a dog park. It was one of the ones that had a really long trail to get to the open gates. Reilly saw a Bernese Mt Dog, and must have decided it was the scariest thing she'd ever seen, because she took off running. I looked everywhere for her, and finally went back to my car to get my phone to call a friend to help with the search. Reilly was sitting right next to the drivers side door, waiting for me to let her in the car so we could go home and away from that big scary dog. She must have run 1/2 mile to get to the car-I still can't believe she knew exactly which one to sit by.
Eddie Angel and Sully Angel took off a couple of times out of the yard, but all I had to do was yell food and and they came running. They had a doggie friend who used to get out of the yard and come see them. One Sunday their friend, who was part Nuffie and part Kuvasz came for a visit, he was 6 feet tall when standing on his hind legs and very well trained. He loved the boys, but when you told him to go home he would let you walk him home and the crazy part was his owner never realized he was gone until I brought him home. The boys never barked at him and it was so cute to see them and him together.
