So, this is going to be really picture heavy, but we had a riot this afternoon. A squirrel, who I've called "Stupid" somehow managed to climb inside of our grill. I let the dogs outside, nobody realizes what's going on, then Junie figures it out and proceeds to go BONKERS. She was trotting back and forth to the grill, then to the flowers near the bird feeder, then to the other bird feeder, back and forth for two hours. It was insane. Got some fun pictures though! At the bottom is Stupid-I finally worked up the courage to open the grill!

Oh dear! I imagine it was a real ruckus at your house! The dachsies all look like they're saying, "Where's our grilled squirrel. Oh, and please pass the ketchup." Stupid? NO KIDDING!
Dachshunds so seldom have the chance to have a squirrel literally served up on a silver platter for them.
I know Zeke (as well as Rudy & Max-angels) would go bonkers. I'm not so sure about Zora. She would probably try to "mother" it.
Gee Mom they just wanted you to cook their dinner on the grill.
Queu up Copland's Rodeo music.....
Skwirl, it's what's for dinner
boom boom boom.
Great pix!
Oh that is just perfect. Roasted, they fit nicely into a jumbo hot dog bun with a little CHEESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You go gir Ilz da same must be da black and tan I get to da tongue hanging out the pant pant.
Amy
ps mum here Kathleen it looks like "open the grill MUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM hurry up.................................and let me up................please"
Oh, wow! Junie sure looks like my furkids in rat mode! I can imagine her saying,
"That squirrel is mine - I don't wanna share,
Hurry up, Mom, he's right up there!"
2 hours? How did you stand it? I cannot handle mine barrroooooing for more than a few minutes!
It was SO funny. I felt bad for the poor little squirrel, but what cracked me up was how everyone else gave up after a few minutes, but Junie just kept going, like the energizer bunny! She was obsessed, and I don't think she even went potty last night-she was too busy trying to find a way up to the top of the grill. :2funny:
That surely very intense, especially for the squirrel, bless the doggies really trying to reach up.

Poor little squirrel indeed. I was reading the Daily Telegraph yesterday and came across the following article:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/9438410/Jimmy-Doherty-Jamie-Olivers-mate-says-barbecue-grey-squirrel-this-summer.html
As a vegetarian myself, I would´t even consider it, but maybe your pack want to round up some of the greys, crank up the bbq and get the celebrity chef recipe.
That is hilarious! It showed who the main huntress is in the pack.
Speaking of the pack that is one group of GORGEOUS doxies!!!!!!!!!!!

Aw, thank you! Miss Millie has become quite the "large marge" in the last few months-funny considering how poor of an eater she was for her first couple years-and she's actually on a D-I-E-T. We're trying not to tell her that, though. :thumb:
