All ok here in SE PA, just stinkin' hot. Our 'burg has it's own power grid, so the AC and lights are still on.
Hope eveyone is ok.
Check in when you can. :xfinger:
We're ok. Friday's storms were horrendous, but we never lost power. It's back to being really hot again.
Not wacky here, just usual summer misery, sleeping with air conditioning as of a month ago. Walkies at 05h30 to 07h00, cool brush, shower and breakfast on return. 15 minute quickie pit stop at 14h00 and lunch with a/c and ice. Shortie 20h00 to 20h30 followed by fresh wipe down, light dinner and bedtime.......
Can't sleep for Spanish football fans and local San Pedro fish festivals. Miss Fish, best paella, best fish casserole, you name it - they will fiesta it with 24 hr fireworks - Summer misery a la española.
We are praying to be able to escape to the U.K to visit our Nana and Aunty Gail to gather ourselves together again.
Hope you are all coping and getting loads of smoochies to make everything better.
Cold front came though here in Tulsa it is 97 degrees it has been 106 degrees not counting the heat index where is winter last year we did not have a winter just fall all the way to April started getting hot then. We may not have winter anymore the way the weather has been changing every where. We never go on vacation so do not have to worry about anyone caring for Buddy & Patches married to a tight wad man never spends money going anywhere. Never been on a vacation since I married him we would drive to his mothers house in Iowa she had 88 acres of timber always hot in the timber. Ever where was up & down steps or up a hill or down a hill so much for a vacation.
Buddy & Patches just stay in the house soaking up the AC when they do go out they do not want to stay out for very long that is for sure.Buddy bald on one side next week taking Patches in to the vets to check two bumps one in the front of her mouth by the little teeth and one on her shoulder area getting bigger.Wish us luck on the bump watch and hope Buddy will grow a little hair before winter if we have winter.
All of us here in Northern Illinois is doing ok! Only going outside long enough to do their jobs and come in since it's so hot! Have a good week everyone!!!!
I took the puppers for a walk on Saturday night, as the humidity was lowe, but still pretty hot. One of our new neighbors had a friend stop by who had a blonde long haired dachshund puppy (about 7 months old). Zeke was not a very welcoming neighbor as he repeatedly snapped at the pup, which is surprisingly out of character for him. Zora and the pup seemed to have no issues as both sniffed each other over. Poor Zeke got himself so worked up that when we got home, he simply flopped over on his side and stayed that way the rest of the night.
Glad to hear you north-easterners still have power ! It looks horrendous on the news. Poor Colorado, poor Florida........
Texas has been mucho hot and mucho humid. Highest I have seen was 109, when I got in my car one day last week....at 6 PM and in a covered garage....
We had cloud cover yesterday, and when I took the puppers out at 10, it was actually very comfortable....... until this morning... Hello Humidity !!!!
Take care friends !
Here, in Greenville, SC, we recorded the hottest day ever yesterday at 107. The heat index was around 111-113. That was the third day of temps over 103. We are actually only 30 miles from the NC mountains, which had temperatures in the upper 90's. My good friend and I found out just how hard our farmers work trying to keep their livestock alive! Keeping 10 chickens alive in this heat was quite a challenge, but we did it. Many of our friends lost a lot of their flock and, in some cases, their livelihood.
Today it was 93 and felt great! Next week, we are supposed to be closer to the nice, rare, normal ER we were having and back into the upper 80's. I can't wait!
Always keep safe to all of you there. Weather is becoming more harsh..
Hot and muggy here. Planning to visit Merion in time for my birthday on the 10th. But I will admit to being a tad nervous if this heat keeps up, Am going to try to post a news clip here. The highway in question with the road buckling is the highway I take to visit sister. So far no power outages and I have central air. No doxie right now but am a bit glad. Going out the door is like walking into a wall because it is also so humid, Not sure if my pot garden is going to survive either.
The video shows a SUV hitting the buckled highway and going airborne AND across the median to the other side and into a field, The ONLY reason the video was taken was the couple on the overpass had stopped and was going to take a still picture of the road buckling. Somehow she had turned on the video by mistake, and was actually trying to use the phone to call 911. No one was hurt. Apparently the road bucked again and there was a close call of some type with 2 semi's.
