Great article in Dog World magazine July 2012 story of a 10# Wire haired Dachshund tracking a wounded deer for a 14 year old girl that shot the deer with a arrow in North Michigan. Had to find her first deer and she really kissed a hugged the Dachshund for finding her deer.
Lovely story ( except for the poor deer) and I can well believe it. Red goes wild every time he gets a deer scent - Islay prefers rabbits and squirrels and catches plenty of the former, none of the latter as yet but still trying...
