Sarge went to the vet today to have his sutures removed from his surgery two weeks ago! He did so well....just sat on the table and let the Dr clip the stitches off. The area is healing great. And, the best news of the day is that the cyst is benign! The WSU Vet School/Clinic gave it a long name, and I'm sorry I don't remember is all....it was "Indo....something, something, plasty. In other words, it was hair and skin follicles that grew the wrong direction, thus causing carotene in his system to multiply and cause the cyst to grow. All is very very well at the Spilker household tonight....I can finally breathe normal without worry....is it or isn't it benign. Even the Dr was doing the happy dance.....he has known Sarge since he was 8 weeks old. All the techs also came out and saw him.....everyone was happy. And, according to WSU folks, this is a rare type of cyst and not one that they had come across so they really ran the tests on it to figure out what it was. All the rays and thoughts from the WW family helped! Thank you! Dee
That is wonderful wonderful news. A collective exhale from all of Sargey's WW friends. Bonnie sez WOOF to her pal, Sarge.
Great news thanks so much for letting us know we were all worried right along with you.
Thank goodness for that! We can just imagine the sighs of relief all around. Reckon the Sarge - and everyone - deserves extra treats. Impressive response from your vet all along the line. Must be very reassuring to have known him so long too.
Dee that is great news, its funny they tell you when they remove it...."its probably benign so don't worry" but we do. Give him a big hug frim us, and we bet the scare makes him even more ruggedly handsome.

When I first got Sully Angel his eyes were red and a bit runny and I imagined he had everything under the sun, but the vet finally said it was from allergies. So the dear boy could not help rake leaves, dust or Swiffer the floor, he didn't mind in the least.
So glad Sarge is doing well and no more stitches, my kids always hated them.
Whoop! Whoop! YEA !
