Any volunteers willing to trade me?? I am not feeling to good dis week. Mama called cause I am due for my shots and when she described what my nosey is like da vet said he wanted us to come in today and if we didn't have money today he would waive fees till next week!! Dat made me and mama get worried. Da vet sez he finks my nasty nosey is cause of dose tumor things maybe being back. :doah: :BangHead: Dey better not steal my teef again. I been a good boy and let mama brush dem twice a day. We are hoping for a bad sinus infection or allergies!! :xfinger:  Da gunk in my nose is so yucky and thick that is makes me sneeze and gag! Den it gets stuck hanging out my nose and my mama has to attack me with the Puffs Plus thingies. I hate dat!!!! I gibs her da nasty looks when she does it. So, not only was it grooming day this morning, but I have to go to the vet and get poked, my mouf messed with and maybe some icky medicine. Iffen they gib me dat yucky pink stuff again, mama is going to beg for beef flavored. Please keep us in your thoughts, we go in an hour and a half. Mama will post de update as soon as we gets home.
Sigh.....
 Porky Pie
P.S. Iffen its da tumor fings we will have to go to a different vet to get them out or wait a monf for da vet to get back from his cruise fing. Lucky puppers won't have to deal with that guy for a while!! :apls: Bon Voyage, Dr. Wilson. :headbang:
Amorette are the Puffs Plus the ones with the lotion? If so they might be having an affect on Porky, just a thought.
Yes, they have the lotion in them, but we buy the ones that uses Aloe instead. Our vet said to use those or sensitive skin baby wipes since Porky's nose gets irritated from having to wipe it so much. But, I think we are going to try the baby wipes and see if that helps.
Just got back from the vet. Porky is still tumor free :meme: and with the exception of one of his molars, his teeth are looking good. The vet showed me how I could gently scale the tooth at home to help Porky keep it as long as possible. So the twice a day brushing, the water additive and the flossing are doing the trick! :apls: The vet raved about what a friendly sweet boy Porky is. Boy, he has him fooled, Porky is overprotective of me and not too friendly with other dogs. (Except Bandit and Buzzy) I don't think Porky was too pleased when the vet said, "My goodness you are a sweet little piggy today." LOL! Porky grunted and gave him the l@@k. We decided that the snotty nose is from severe allergies. So we got the vaccines and a prednisone shot today. Also our vet wants us to try a pediatric dosage of Zyrtec again and gradually work our way to a higher dose, if needed. He is leery about trying Zrytec since he has never had to put a dog on it himself. So for now, we are trying a 1/2 tsp of zyrtec per day. That will hopefully work much better than the 1/4 of a benedryl pill 3 times a day!! :xfinger: Plus I won't have to get up in the middle of the night to give it to him. If we find after a few weeks that the zrytec isn't doing much, we will bump it up to twice a day. We were most pleased to hear Porky is TUMOR free. Its still something we will always watch for, but he is good for another 6 months before he needs a checkup.
WOOT for tumor free !!! Sending rayz that the meds do the trick !!!! GO Porky Pie !
Glad to hear you are still tumor free!!!!
Keep it up Porky.
Now we just need to get the allergies in check.
Good Luck to you both.
Merion and Zena
Glad to hear you are tumor free sorry about the nosy thing how about a baby irrigation tube using sterile water sorta like using a netti pot ? I do know netti pots for people can be dangerous if you just use tap water ? Might ask the vet just not sure how the inside of a dog s nose is compared to people has to be structured different ? about gently using a syringe to rinse out the nose ???? Just throwing out ideas since Porky's nose it sore how about using the Neosporen + with the pain reliever in it might help the sore ness???Rays & Hugs to Porky and his worried momma & dad.Papbouv
WOW I just read all of that and I am so sorry to hear he is having so many issues but glad to hear he is ok now. Poor little baby, I am so soft hearted with the puppers I cry so easy with them. I am glad he is ok he is such a sweet baby and I hate to hear when they are not well hurts my heart but Porky Pie baby you are going to be just fine just listen to mommy ok and take your meds like a good big boy and you will be fine. Sending love, hugs and puppers licks from Texas Romeo says get better and you better get lots of yummers for this LOL :) take care our friends
My goodness Porky! You DO need a new nose. So glad you are tumor free, though. Let's see......would you look good with a Pug nose? How about a Boxer nose? Nah! Dachsie noses are the BEST! We were very impressed that your mommy FLOSSES your teeth. Hope about a nasal flossing? OUCH! Keep trying to beat the llergies, Porky. We're rooting for you. You have the best mom in the world taking care of you.
Suggestion in case you have to give porky the icky pink stuff again. That was the one antibiotic we did not have a problem with, at least after i got smart. If I tried to get it in her mouth she would spit it all over. BUT she loved yogurt and i would stir the pink stuff in to that and she really loved it that way. This is one antibiotic that does not have problem with yogurt.
Hey Porky Pie!
Howz about you borrow mine?
(tee-hee-hee) ~ Guinness
Sure you don't want Guinness' breath???? :meme:
Auntie Keren
LOL!! Porky already has that breath! The new medicine seems to be helping a lot!! My only complaint is I'm giving him half the dose he should get for his size and he is a zombie. I hope after 2 weeks he isn't so sleepy on this medicine, but we are loving the no wheezing at night!! Both Porky and I got to sleep from 10 p.m. until 5 this morning since he didn't have any wheezing or sneezing in the night. :apls: We haven't gotten that much sleep in years! Usually Porky wakes up 4-5 times a night and needs my help calming down so he can catch his breath.
Aww bless haha. Glad you Porky is getting better and better, hope you find very comfortable position to sleep well and longer...
I know I am not a dog, so it might not be the same thing, but when I was finding what worked for my allergies, they tried claratin(24 hour version) which had me so wired after 2-3 pills I gave up. Then tried zyrtec and I can tell you benydryl is like speed compared to how zyrtec worked on me. Zombie is a good description. What works for me is allegra but of course my insurance plan stopped covering that, so its either claritin or zyrtec or pay myself.
but Merion has used claritin for Zena and she does fine on that.
Auntie Keren uses Singulair, but only at night, 'cuz it puts her to sleep. :meme:
I hope ur noze gets bedder 'n' stops leakin' soon.
