Went to bed as usual. Bons started off in her bed. Then she crawled up with me. Then her bed again. Then above my bed (between the wall and mattress.) Very restless. Finally she seemed to settle in but I noticed she was shivering very badly and panting hard. I snuggled her. She seemed in distress. She settled in one place, seeming comforted that I was rubbing her side and back. She didn't want water. Didn't want out. Just panting and panting and shaking. I thought of taking her to the ER vet but decided to wait a bit and see what transpired. She wasn't getting up, just content to lie next to me. It got so bad and went on so long that I seriously had "THE TALK" with her that it's okay if she just breathes and "goes to sleep." I was preparing myself for the worst. In the course of about 3 hours, the panting lessened and the shivers became less dramatic. By the time the alarm went off at 5:45, she was as right as rain. Happy and wiggly and ready to eat. I have NO idea what that was all about. No getting sick. Good poo poo outside this morning. No residue of her not feeling well last night. At one point towards the end of the bad hours, she moved closer to me and just gave me a very vigorous tongue bath. I think she was saying that she was feeling better and thanking me for staying with her through this. I had moved Mark onto the futon so that me and the "girl" could stretch out in the big bed. Anyway, all seems fine today. Do you think we should still see the vet or just take it as just a bad time that she's over now? I can't think of a thing it could have been. At one point, I thought she was having a stroke or something, but she's so normal now. Mystery illness. I'm good now but later today I'm gonna be crying for a nap.
Came home for lunch. All is well. The little stinker was ready to "help" me eat my lunch.
Barb--how old is she now? Huh. Any fever? Runny bowels?
Hey Les, it's me, Sandi. Bonnie is 13. No runnies. No tight tummy. No stiffness (like a seizure). She's perfectly fine now. We'll see how tonight goes. We're both off tomorrow, so if we have an issue, we'll run her over to the vet.
Panting & the shivering can be a sign of pain might call the vet & ask what they think.Hugs & Rays to Bonnie hope she can sleep well tonight.
Sandi - I wonder if she might have had a seizure, or could have been a mini stroke. Nothing is more worrisome than not knowing....AND knowing that your baby is hurting....sending BonBon some rays...and a :comfort: for a worried mom !!!
(I have had the talk several times with Brandy lately, with all her issues going on...... and I am thrilled and feel blessed each morning when she wakes up.... she will be 16 in a month).
Keep us posted on Bonnie !
how scary, is it possible she was having a bout of back pain? So glad sheis feeling better!Bon!
