Okay we need MEGA rays now! I was playing with Porky this morning and he rolled over for the belly rub. I put my hand right below his ribs (where they meet) and felt a lump!! :ambulance: You cannot see it just by looking at him, and he is VERY thin, so any large lumps would be noticeable instantly. I pray I'm just overreacting, but this is REALLY scary!! I could only feel it when he was laying on his back. If you feel the spot when he is standing or lying down, you feel nothing. :dontknow: Its really strange. I'm hoping its just his diaphragm I am feeling since he has gotten so thin. We don't have money to take him to the vet until after the 15th of this month, so I am going to check it several times a day to make sure it is not changing size or consistency. It is a hard lump right at the end of the sternum. Bandit had a similar feeling tumor that was determined to be a fatty embolus, but his really stuck out and had more jagged edges. Porky's is perfectly round. I am going to outline the lump with a sharpie so we can track if it gets any bigger more accurately. If I see any signs of change before the 15th, I will rush him into the vet. Please send prayers, rays, etc...that it is NOT a tumor and I am just being a worried mama. :xfinger:
I'm hoping since Porky is acting like he feels great, that this means nothing!
Rays are coming for Porky and you.
Tons of rayz on the way.... marking it with a sharpie is a great idea - to be able to watch it......
Sending more mega rays your way from Hilde and me. Keep us posted how the Piester is doing.

I hate these "discoveries" they scare you to death. I try not to feel Hallie over too well at night because I don't want to have to worry all night about something I can't have checked til morning. Are you sure it wasn't there already? Hallie has a lump there also and she's also pretty thin. I'm hoping you just hadn't noticed before. She does have a lipoma there now too but it has come on in just the last year. Does it move around, it's not part of his sternum?
I have rushed Hallie to the vet in the past for things like finding a hard lump on the roof of her mouth just behind her front teeth (if you feel your pups mouths...they all have it!) and a "tumor" on her lip near the back (just normal tissue, not even a swelling after all), for a lump that proved to be a tiny bug bite (rolling of vets eyes at that point), etc. We can drive ourselves nuts. But I don't know an answer to that. :) It's hard not to worry about your kids. I'm sure Porky is just fine, you are keeping a close eye and you'll know after the 15th.
Sam had a lump in the same area you described. It was the size of a dime and not too puffy. It didn't move when I touched it and it never got bigger, but I worried at first. As time passed it never got bigger and never moved. We are sending rays to Porky and his mom.
Megga Rayz for Mr. Porky. I'm sure things are going to be fine. Try not to worry too much.
Rays & Hugs that the lump is part of Porky and just not noticed because he was a little heavier maybe when he gets to eating it will disappear with a little weight gain.Best wishes coming your way.
I am hopin' and prayin' that this is just a part of Porky you're feeling. Where you describe it does sound like it's his little diaphragm.
 sounds like where the ribs at the end meet....................took oliver with same to vet to be told its normal, and you've now made it sore by pushing it.
I felt so stupid

Rays & prayers coming for Porky. Hope everything will get ok soon. Just don’t get panic. :bandaid:
Bless you Porky, I read on the other thread you are getting better but still more rays for you..
Thank you both for the extra rays. Porky is doing great now! He still has his allergy issues, but we can play ball and eat normally again. :apls:
