We let Zuzu out this morning as usual while DH vacuumed. She wandered around and barked at some kids walking down the street. When he was done, DH decided to run an errand, and when he started his car, he noticed a gap in the fence waaaaaaaaaaaaay in the back of the yard. (it's an ancient fence.) An entire door panel was laying on the ground. AND! There were deer tracks all over the back. (I thought I heard somethin' in the yard last night.) How Zuzu did not find those tracks and follow them out a few feet!!!! to the very busy busy road is a miracle.
Needless to say, she is IN the house while daddy fixes it. We got really lucky, because there is no way she would have not been hit by a car.
Holy &#(@%*=)!?:"{+_!!!!!
One Halloween I let the boys out in the back yard and made sure the gate was securely closed. We didn't have a lot of kids and they were all gone within an hour so I decided to run up to the store, but realized that Sam wasn't in the house. I called and called, but Sam didn't come and checking the yard proved to be futile as he wasn't there and I realized that someone had opened the gate. Grabbing my keys I got in the car and drove around the block, but no Sam. When I got home there he was sitting on the back porch barking to be let in. When he saw me he just gave me the L@@K as if to say "Where were you?"
I got Eddie the day before Thanksgiving and let him and Sully Angel out into the back yard. They weren't out very long and Sully came in while Eddie wanted to explore more, so he stayed out. After being inside a minute or so Sully kept running to the front window and barking, because he always barked at things outside I didn't pay too much attention, but finally decided to look AND there was Eddie sitting in the middle of the street watching the snow fall, it was his first snow. He had gotten out through the gap in the fence, it was fixed the next morning.
So far Danni hasn't tried to make a break for it.
They just want to make sure your hearts are beating.
