Hello! This is Bonnie-the dachshund who speaks proper English. I'm here to tell you that there have been shinnanagins happening around here and I don't like it at all! First, mommy gets me up WAY early and then when I go back to bed....her bed, she sits on me! Barrroooooo! The motto around here is DON'T SIT ON THE WIENER DOG!! Hurrrrumph! I am okay though. Mommy has lost 20 plus poundage so at least she didn't crush me.
Second-I get leashed up and have to goferaride. I'm not real keen on goferarides and state such with many howls and whines. Then mommy gets dropped off at work and Papa drops ME off at Auntie Linda's with "cousins" Grumpy Sasha and Ruby (Rubeest). They are dachshunds, too. Well, Sasha grumped at me once but now we get along pretty well. I have had to stay there all day for THREE days. One good thing is Auntie Linda gives me lambs ears. That's a treat because mommy doesn't buy me those. Still, I'd rather be at my own house, in my own bed or mommy and papa's bed. Barrrooooo!
Mommy here. What a week. We're getting our laminate floor laid this week. It's about half done and looks WONDERFUL but it's been a little hard on Bon Bon. She's 13 and so set in her own ways. She just cries and cries when it's time to pack her up and drop her off at my friend, Linda's, home. She seems to be taking to the new floor well-what there is of it. It's so nice to get rid of the nasty carpet. The paint turned out rather nice and the floor we chose compliments it nicely. Can't wait to see baseboard on today-painted pure whiite.
Dear Miss Bonne---All this will be worth it. You will have a nice floor to walk on, and even slide on if da mama is not looking. Just be a little patience and all will work out.

How exciting !!! Poor BonBon.... but hang in there honey - it will be done soon !!!
(I still have to get my roof done for the hail in April, and I keep putting off because I am not sure what I am going to do with the Fivey's )
Can't wait to see pictures !!!
Dearest Bonnie,
This sounds like abuse to me. Just sayin...
 Porky Pie
P.S. You don't want those roofer guys to come either. They were at my house and were soooo loud, a guy couldn't even rest with that racket! (That message is for Auntie Barb's crew)
Poor Bon-Bon. Schatzi thinks she knows how she feels, but really doesn't have much of a clue! Randy and I bought some new furniture from Ikea a couple of weeks ago and so for a good week everything was crazy around here. There were tons of boxes in one room and then each day it seemed like stuff was in the middle of the den while we were putting it together, and then we would move other things around and out to move it in the right room. Schatzi wanted to know what happened to her perfectly quiet evenings of watching tv in her favorite spots. She would just walk around, try to settle, get up, try to get on my lap while I worked on something, and then walk around some more. Doxies are not big fans of change, especially as they get older!! I can just imagine what she will be like in a few more years. Next we plan to paint. That is really going to be fun!!
I hope Bonnie gets over the "trauma" quickly and enjoys her new floors.
I'm sure it is going to look wonderful may have to put down carpet runners if you had carpet previously for you elderly girl to navigate around on. Do not want her to be slipping and sliding about not be good for elderly backs but I'm sure you have already thought of all this. Maybe your girl can pick out the carpet runners for her to walk on you know she will love it if you call it her red carpet.Of course we hope to see pictures when done.Papbouv

I know Porky !!! I can't imagine being there with all that going on...... the barking  At least by the end of the day, everyone would be hoarse.... JK !!!! I will figure out a way to git us all away from there !
Well, most of the floor is in, along with the beautiful new baseboard. Just waiting for our bedroom floor, but it's still on order. The installation crew did a wonderful job. Bonnie stayed with "cousins" Sasha and Ruby for 2 days with very little drama and then I was able to keep her at home the last day penned up in the bedroom since the guys were just finishing up with baseboard and moving furniture back.
Bonnie here: Did I mention that I DON'T LIKE IT???? Dumb ol' floor isn't soft and I can't sneak around anymore because my nails click click click on the floor. I must say though, I am most influential.-(isn't that a great word for a lowly-as in low to the ground-doggity?) Anyway, my mommy and papa felt so sorry for my sad eyes and down tail that they hauled out 2 floor rugs they've had rolled up since their house in Santa Rosa over 10 years ago! The green one serves has a soft landing for me in the futon room plus it acts as a floor protector for the rolly chair that sits at the computer. They also got out the other rug that was rolled up and put it in the livingroom. The funny thing about THAT rug is......it isn't OUR rug! When it got unrolled, Mommy noticed right away. A different rug. And not nearly as nice as the one they had. Only thing they can figure is the Moving Guys must have had other families' stuff on the truck and grabbed the wrong rug. Mommy says that 10 years has gone by so we can't do a claim.....whatever that is. At least they'll keep the old rug for now so that I have a softer landing when I jump off the couch. Oh! Speaking of couch, the mommy and papa bought me a new one today with a matching chair. It should be here soon so I can try it out. It is leather. Do any puppers here have their own leather couch? Do us doggies like leather? Mommy wants to know if it washes up well and stuff.
This is Schatzi. I have a leather couch, and your mommy better plan on having you a blanket on there. Those couches are coooold on our tushes and our bellies. Mamma makes sure I have a blanket, or her lap, and I am happy. They are definitely easy to clean. It was nice they put rugs down because those floors are slippery landing pads-but they are fun to slide on sometimes.
Did you find any good smells in those other people's rug? Just wondering? Bet it made for some good sniffing.
Bonnie,
Im glad the floor is in now. I have one of them stinky floors that make my nails click too. But, they can be really fun!! Iffen you run really fast, you can slide right around the corner. I love that, but my mama tells me, "No!" a lot. My hugrandma has a leather couch and I likes it!! It is so comfy!! You can sink right into it. I'm not allowed to sit on our new couch. :dontknow: Something about my sneezing snot all over it. So, I have my own recliner that I get all to my self. :apls: I hope you like your new couch and gets to enjoy a lazy afternoon nap on them often.
