Duncan would appreciate some rays for his tummy. I got some of the teeny size greenies on Saturday. The little devil chewed it on the left side then on the right and then swallowed the whole d**n thing. He started eating grass Sunday and throwing up yesterday. Last night we went to the emergency clinic at our vet and had a couple of xrays taken. There were no obvious blockages but he pretty much completely emptied his stomach after we got back home (at 1 a.m.!!). The emergency vet gave us something to stop the vomiting. He's not interested in any food this morning and just wants me to hold him. The vet said no food for 12-24 hours and then a bland diet for 4 days. Also to bring him back in if he get's lethargic. Heck only getting 4 hours sleep last night has me lethargic. Next step would/will be ultrasound and possible surgery to remove the blockage.
Aww, poor Duncan. Rays coming his way.
I have a dog that will do that, left on his own (Winston). When I give him greenies, I have to hold them, and block the majority of it, so he can only take a bit at a time.
Rays coming from Kelly&puppers for Duncan!
Rays coming for Duncans tum tum, some of them are to smart for their own good. maybe a sleepy together, but I know someone has to make the bone money.
That is the reason Oliver does not get chicken legs, bit off the wee end and swallow the rest whole.
Da gang
Rays from us too! Hope he works it out on his own, and feels better soon. Greenies scare me, I stopped giving them to Hallie a few years ago, she got a piece stuck in her craw and looked like she was eating peanut butter. Now she only gets the occasional bully stick and I hold it for her. But even those worry me.
How is he feeling today?
eLlIe had trouble with those darn Greenies too. (http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons/emoticon-cartoon-019.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons.php) and with any rawhide type of thing.
I don't give oLlie any of that stuff ......... but he TAKES anything he can find.
Sending rays that Duncan is better soon.
Rays & Hugs to Duncan hope he is feeling better soon.
We got spooked by all the bad reports on greenies and don't let them have them anymore. Sorry to hear about Duncan's distress - rays for his complete recovery without and invasive action!
In the days when my pair were allowed chewie things and non fattening things I bought two and was told where to stuff them..............Pigs ears was their favourite.

ps how is he Mike
Duncan is feeling much better, but no poop to this point. He thinks the chicken & rice is quite tasty and wants more than one helping per meal. He is currently staring at me because I am having some Belgium dark chocolate and Madagascar Vanilla ice cream.
Sorry I am late seeing this ! Maybe some pumpkin would help get things moving? Keep us posted !
The poop has landed as of last night. Just waiting for more of the same to know the pipes are running clean.
Are you using white rice or brown rice the brown rice would have more fiber to get things going of course the pumpkin helps for both directions.Good Luck Rays & Hugs.
