Title: Thunder Shirts!
Post by: Kelly on August 19, 2011, 08:21:43 AM
Have you seen the advertisement on TV for thundershirts for dogs? Well anyway they do work. The middle of July my family and I went to Omaha to visit my brother in-laws Aunt&Uncle and they had one for their dog and while we were there it stormed and storms bothered their dog before they got the thunder coat and now that they have it storms don't bother the dog anymore. My Mom and I got one for Cinni and my sister got one for Fritz and they like them.Especially Fritz since he has an anxiety problem when my sister leaves for work.

They had them at the dog show when we were there and someone was trying one with her dog. The person selling them told her to put it on the dog, walk it around some to see how it worked for her and if it didn't help, she could bring it back. I know the concept they are based on works with autistic kids, so it makes sense it would work with the dogs.

Today(9-20-11) when we got up this morning in Illinois looked like it was gonna storm and soon as my sister put the thunder coat on her one dog he calmed down and went back to bed after going outside to do his job!
