When Sam Angel first came to lie with me we instituted the idea that every Wednesday would be Special puppy treat day. Since I usually take Wednesdays off from working I do a lot of things around the house and to keep the furkids from getting bored or wanting to help they each get a very special treat to chew on. Today I bought Danni a bag of pinwheel Dingo treats and gave her one, well four hours later she hasn't tried to eat it, no instead she has been carrying it around the house to find the perfect place to hide it. It's been under blankets, in her crate, behind furniture and now ssshhh, hidden in the couch cushions. She has never been so obsessive about a treat before. I'm not worried, but it is weird, besides Cleo doesn't like Dingo Bones.
Winston is my obsessive treat hider. The key is DO NOT WATCH her when she's looking for a spot for it. She'll spot you watching and know that YOU know where it is, and she won't feel like it's safe, so she'll keep trying to move it to a safer place.
Danni took the treat to bed with her and I had to hide it under the pillow so she'd go to sleep. She did retrieve it and went to sleep on the couch to protect it. When I woke up this morning Danni was back in bed with her treat and holding it between her paws. We still haven't tried to eat it, so I guess the package of 3 I bought will last awhile.

Hallie did the same when she still had her sight, it was so cute. :heart: Like Kathleen says, the trick is not letting her know you saw.
But what do you do when she tries to hide it in your messenger bag?

Oh Guiness mama is trying to find you and the herd Kosher dog treats, but everywhere she tries they are always out. But someday.

so what did you do? Rudy used to do that when he was younger....once I got it away from him, I would just put it up for awhile. Guess he just needed to wait until he REALLY want to chew !

After 3 days she finally finished off the chewy.
