Taffy has discovered she loves :heart: to go shopping. As long as it's for her.
When I get dressed, she gets her carrier, throws her baby in, and jumps in herself. Hey Mom. I'm ready, lol. :meme: :meme:
I'm discovering that if I have her in the carrier, with no nose sticking out to see what is going on, I can take her in a lot of places. And here we thought no place let pups in. Who knew? We went to two pet stores, one to return an extra bottle of shampoo and get food and treats, and the other to track down the Thanksgiving dinner food. Hey, it sounded good, so I thought I would try it on her. They also had potpie, beef stew, venison and buffalo. We left the wild things, and got the potpie and beef stew.
From there we went to Wilford & Lee, a great place to shop for all kinds of goodies. They have beanie babies... :heart: Ty products,...and bought a dog and a cat baby Ty for her for Christmas. She has the cuddle cub, and loves it...it's her baby, and already needs to be washed. I picked out some beanies, looked at Santas, then wandered over to look at some bronze birds and wildlife sculptures. This is when she told me in no uncertain terms that SHE WASN'T INTERESTED IN THIS STUFF. I thought, uh-oh....jig is up...but they all thought it was funny, and thought she was a sweetie.
It will be interesting to see how many stores will allow her in, because I have done NO Christmas shopping this year. Bad me.

How cute! Cajsa would never stay quiet enough to go in a store! As a puppy I could put her in my bag with her blanket and take her places, but when she got older she got too protective and barks at everyone to warn them away from me/her.
A lot more stores than you think will allow her to tag along. I work in a Claires Accessories and we get dogs (small of course) in all the time. Our mall is "pet friendly" so it is totally acceptable. I would love to be able to take Buddy with me, but sadly he would not sit still for more than three minutes in a carrier. How old is Taffy? Is she a mini? Buddy might also be a tad big for a carrier. I haven't really seen many that he would fit in...I swear he's the longest weenie I've ever seen. Not to mention I think my arm would get tired lugging him and all the shopping bags around!! Good luck with your Christmas shopping!! My family decided that I am literaly "not allowed" to buy gifts this year. I recently moved out on my own again and things are ultra tight. Thankfully they realize that is not what Christmas is really about!!
Taffy is 11 months old, and is a mini. She weighs about 8 pounds, but has figured out how to make her and the carrier weigh about three times that by shifting herself around, lol. I've asked her if she is having friends over when she does that.
I know that it is time to wrap it up when she starts 'tap dancing' in there...time to move on, because she is getting restless. I think she really likes the rocking effect of being carried in there, so when I stop to look at something, I make sure I am still rocking the little babe so she doesn't get testy on me.
When I took her into Walmart, I DID NOT put her carrier into the cart. I spent too many years in there to even think about it. If you only knew what goes on in that store :crazyeyes:....what people let their children do. I always put meat and veggie in bags. Wash everything from the bins before you cook or eat it, lol. And people worry about touching the restroom doors.
Taffy has already tried getting into her carrier a few times, suggesting we go out today....but with Turkey day tomorrow, she is going to have to stay home and watch me cook and clean some more. I think I have created a little monster. Oh well.....she will get plenty of :heart: :heart: :heart: tomorrow when my son and dil come over to make up for not getting to go today.
I don't think most places would make a big deal about it if she was in a bag, but you never know. Mine are way too hyper :hyper: :runaway: and Cassie is way too LOUD.
I could probably take Bogart and maybe Cash. Although Cash would want to get out so everyone could pet him! :grin:
I take Hallie into every store with me except for Wal Mart (at ours they do catch you and kick you out), K Mart and the grocery store. I take her into Target, the post office, the bank, the library, art shows...every where else so far we've been lucky. I usually put her in a stroller that looks like a regular baby one and cover it with a towel, leaving a space at the bottom for her to peek out, so people think there is a human baby in there. She never says a peep, and she LOVES to shop. She's been to two funerals with me too. I also have a back pack and a front pack and a side carrier and a second larger stroller for dog shows and places where I don't have to hide her so much. Once you start taking them places it is surprising how many let you in.
I've wondered about those front-packs...does she like it? How long is she and how much does she weigh? I would LOVe to get one of those for Buddy..I think he might like it but I am still leary on it.
One of the ladies at W&L suggested a snugglie type thing they use for the babies, and I did see people carrying their pups in them...but I think her puppiness would not like that as well as her carrier...and she can get vocal when she thinks someone is getting too familiar with me. They seem like they might be a bit unwiedly with doxies. Anyone tried one yet?
