For some reason, Ozzy is licking his butt, which is making his breath extremely bad. :eeew: It's not his anal glands, we believe. Any suggestions on how to stop it? I got one of those collars, but hesitate to use it, if there is another, easier answer. Thanks!
Are you sure it is not the anal glands could be an infection inside the vet most likely needs to feel with a gloved pinky finger do not think the dog would be licking for no reason. Good Luck in finding out what is going on.Feel betters soon Ozzy.
It may be anal-related - Brekke was scooting and humping and I knew she'd had hers good and empty about two weeks ago. She is now on antibiotics for a slight anal infection.
We took him to the vet and his glands needed expressing. The vet said everything is normal. So, I'm just trying to watch him a little better, and working like mad to get his breath improved.
Has his teeth been cleaned by the vet if possible have the vet put him under anesthesia clean his teeth sometimes when they have bad breath they have a bad tooth or teeth. once cleaned by the vet then you have a better chance of keeping them clean when you brush then every day. Good Luck with the teeth.
Glad a butt squeeze helped !
Porky does that his glands need emptied. Glad Your vet took care of that annoying habit. For the breath, try teeth brushing and fresh parsley. The doggie mints work pretty well too. Porky has awful breath from his allergies, so I have had to become an expert on doggie breath lately. :2funny:
