Title: More pictures
Post by: Kathleen on June 21, 2011, 05:22:02 PM
I was trying to get some pictures of Junie-I'm showing her this weekend and having a couple friends tell me where I need to improve the grooming-and Millie and Cricket decided to stick their noses in.  So we got a couple "family" pictures, and some really funny faces, too.

You can see Millie behind Junie here, just about to hop up on the table.

Nose firmly in where it didn't belong, she started mugging for the camera.

Cricket joined them, for a family picture, sort of.

Success!

Wow, they are almost as big as their mom (or are they as big?).   Do they still treat Millie like their mother?

I'm a dremel fiend.  They get their nails done every week, like it or not.  Reilly and Winston get off with less than that since their nails don't grow as much, but honestly, Murphy's should be done twice a week.  His nails grow like crazy!

Junie's a little smaller than her mom (8 pounds) and Cricket is a little bigger than her mom (11 pounds, or possibly more).  Millie's about 9 1/2 to 10 pounds, depending on how much she's been eating lately.  Millie definitely acts like their mom on occasion (she'll stand over them while they eat to make sure Murphy doesn't steal any from them), but mostly she acts like a big sister.  She LOVES playing with those girls.  They chase each other around the yard all the time.  It's really fun to watch.

Thanks what kind of Dremel do you use guess I need to do it more often. About a year ago Buddy my Doberman Kicked my little finger broke it never healed right so turned me off of dremeling for awhile. I have to do Buddy like a horse because I cannot get on the floor to do him, found out if I put Patches in the water bed I have less problems with her.

I started out with the Dremel pet tool, which is cordless and runs on batteries.  It runs fairly slow, so it's good to get both you and the dog used to the sensation and make sure you don't take too much.  After that, I just used my regular power Dremel that I bought for house use and used the sandpaper drums with it.  It's quite a bit faster, so you do have to be careful that longhaired dogs don't get their tails in the way, because you absolutely will take a chunk of hair out of them before you even know it.
