I have been trying soooooooooooooo hard to be a good boy. Mama loves me! I love Mama !
We went visiting all weekend and I was good every place that we went. We went to a house in the middle of seven acres of woods. Mama put a 30 ft. leash on me (a bright pink one) and then let me GO! I played and played and sniffed and sniffed. When Mama called me I came right back. When Mama got out of sight I came back to find her. The only time she had to actually come and get me was when I wrapped the the leash around a tree or a rock or something. I even met a little dog out there and we played well. Mama was afraid that I would fight with that dog but we just sniffed and went for a walk in the woods with the humans.
Ollie

Oh Ollie this had me on the verge of tears, you sure are one lucky little guy. Your forever mama does love you and so do all your aunties.
OMG! Now, THAT'S the Ollie we've been waiting for!!!! So glad to hear this good news, Ruth! Let the pictures and stories begin! What a good boy!
I couldn't wait to come home today and see if Ollie got to stay! I'm so glad he was soooo good and is such a lovebug. I think any other problems will get worked out in time, especially as he figures out that he is staying with you and that you are the boss now. Congratulations on the new addition to your family!
Wow! What good news!! Ollie has come such a long way in such a short time. I'm sure you will continue to see him blossom and grow. Sounds like the Boy really loves his Mommy!
Glad all is going well may take awhile yet to get it all together for you both it really has not been that long yet.
:thumb: Oh, Auntie Ruth, here you tried to be all businesslike and serious and deciding if Ollie was a good fit for you - and all the time I KNEW you would melt under the gaze of that mustachioed little face!!
Welcome to the board, Ollie!! All the aunties and uncas and puppers love you already!!!
Aunie Keren :sunny:
sounds as if you had a great week-end probably the first of many, you are a really good boy for not leaving your mum unlike the other Oliver who was naughty a the week-end.
Ruth glad to hear he is staying, like the rest I was waiting for the post one way or the other.
So when do the photos begin
Roberta
I'm so glad you decided to keep the little rascal. No dog is perfect. They all have such unique personalities. I had a jack that was a little crusty around people, we just learned to supervise him a little more carefully, or remove him from the room if kids were a little rambunctious just to keep everybody safe. He eventually just withdrew from the room on his own if he didn't like what was going on. He would lay in his cage in the back bedroom.
OMG !!! I am so sorry to be so late seeing this !!! I am totally THRILLED !!! A relocation is always so hard, and my guess is he will socialize quickly.....under mommy's loving care !!! WOOOT !!!! Hims a keeper

Wadddaa mean "no dog is perfect" ??????????? I AM perfect ........ Mama is the one who has to adjust. Only kidding ... I am really trying to be a good boy. Ollie
Can anybody explain this ....... now Ollie lets someone IN the house and barks when they try to leave ??????
I also have realized that he has such a strong LOUD bark , no matter what he is trying to say. So "Hi, how are you?" sounds the same as "I'm going to eat you!" He will alert at everything BUT will stop when you tell him 'NO BARK" He spent an hour yesterday, under a tree, wiggiling like crazy, about the squirrels above his head........ without hardley any barking.
Ruth
 At least he's got if HALF right! He'll catch on fast to let people LEAVE also! He really HAS come a long way from where he started. He sounds like such a sweet boy. I love that clownish, wiggly pup that wires are known for. Elli has a lot of that in her and Cyrus can just look at you and make you laugh. Of course, those eyebrows help quite a bit! I'm so glad it worked out the way it did - for both of you. I was afraid you'd keep him out of guilt and he wouldn't socialize. SOOOO glad he's being such a good boy!
You say NO BARK and he stops ???????????? Oh lordy - I am sending Rudy to you :thumb:

The "NO BARK" only works when he is barking at something or somebody outside the house. It does not work when someone crosses the threshold.
Woohoo! I am late, but welcome Ollie!
All of us in Illinois are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy for you Ollie! You have a good Mother! Have a good week-end little buddy!

Thanks Kelly. MaMa remembers that you were the very first person to answer her first post on the old board when she asked
if she should get a harness for Ellie.
Thanks for the welcome.

Also, if you don't mind, when Barb sends Rudy to you, can I send Sammy too?? :2funny:
"Can anybody explain this ....... now Ollie lets someone IN the house and barks when they try to leave ??????"
Maybe that is him saying "Good By and be sure to come back" Or maybe "Please don't leave?"
In any case, he seems to be really adjusting and doing it very fast also!! Very glad it is working out!!

Actually, I think you've got it about right. I think dogs don't like the pack members to leave. "Hey, you just got here and you just joined our pack, and now you're leaving???" :dontknow:
Guinness hates it when the car slows down. :director: "HEY, HEY, HEY!!! Why are we slowing down???"
"Because it's a RED LIGHT!!!?!!!"
Yo! Empty your pockets ! oLlIe
Yo back at ya Ollie !
