went for normal walk to auntie Janes, on walking back he usually does a round of the bottom of the dam, sniffs all the burrows, then does a round of the top. Well the last I saw of him was trotting past the puddle on the bottom of the dam, 5 mins later I could not find him. He usually comes on the third or fourth "Ollie come" or Ollie uppie" meaning up the hill.
After 10 mins of combing the dam and yelling, Jane came out and started to do her end then I called Nick and he came out to and did a turn up the road. Spoke to neighbors and local farmers. Went through the ferns etc in both adjacent properties. Then my mum came to stay at the house so we could walk some of our walks, when who should appear just down the hill from me. Our fear was he could have gone down a burrow, but he has never done it in the past and he is hopeless getting through fences so did not think he could get through the side fences and I would have seen him if he had gone up the hill behind the dam. I think he went along th ebottom of the dam and accross to the other side of the hill and near where he appeared was a rabbit hole a part of it had collapsed in so he may have been lying watching th ehole as we have gone past, he usually does that. Did not look as if he had been digging just dirt in his eyes and a little on his chest. So he will be on long leash for a long long while. We are all have got sore throats from yelling.

I think they like giving moms heart attacks just for the fun of it they always look like oh were you calling me long lines are best in reminding them of where they are suppose to be. Glad you found him and all was well besides getting sore throats that is.

I have read that they do have those Satellite tracker things for dogs but they are very expensive goes on their collar think it has like a mile distance on it or something like that. I now cannot remember what magazine I saw it in bet you could google something up on it.
About ten years ago I met a dachshund who wore a buzzer collar that the owner used only when needed to get him to come back. One time he took off after the trash truck and wouldn't listen and finally the owner turned the voltage all the way up and held down the button. A moment later the pupper came running back as if he was being dragged by his collar! "I'M COMING!! I'M COMING!! TURN DOWN THE VOLTAGE!!!"
