Title: going to sleep.......
Post by: Roberta on April 26, 2011, 06:52:10 PM
Amy has always had the ability to just plunck herself down and promptly go to sleep and snore......................anybody else share this ability.

Schatzi does. Especially after a walk. She will come in and get on mine or Randy's lap and often under a blanket (if I have one close to me) and she is out like a light. The snores start immediately. I rarely notice her snoring at night, but during the day when she sleeps like this-almost always.

Oh yeah!  My Dolly was like that.  Out like a light in 2 minutes flat.  I sure miss her.

Reilly does this too.  And she doesn't go over to a bed or handy couch to crash, either.  She'll fall asleep right in the middle of the room if the sleepies catch up to her and she's out like a light.  I sometimes wonder if she has a form of narcolepsy.

One night I woke up about 2 AM to hear weird sounds in the bedroom, it was Sam and Edie snoring and let me tell you it was loud.  Danni can fall asleep anywhere, especially half an hour after we get up in the morning.  While I have coffee and watch the news Miss Danni is back to sleep on my lap.

Although at times Twinkie angel could nod off quickly what used to really crack me up(and Merion's Zena does it too now). They will  be laying there with the heads up, and they eyes close and their head starts drifting down, and then pops up and that can happen over and over and over before they finally give in and put the head down too.  Its like they don't want to miss anything so won't put the head down!!
My Twinkie did not travel too  well and when we were doing the dog show circuit really often the one year, I got some valium from vet. She did not fuss, but would pant riding in her kennel.  The time I gave her the valium, she was groggy and would do the above thing, but also I swear her head reminded me of a bobble headed doll!!  I preferred the panting to that.  Actually as she got older to if her kennel was on floor of the RV or my van, that seemed to help too.

Well, let me put it this way - I came in here 5 minutes ago, and Bastian has been snoring like a lumber mill for 3 of them! :2funny:

Mr T will fall asleep as soon as there is lap space lol and boy does he snore and has been known to snore from the back end while asleep too LOL. Ivy hates to miss a thing and does the head up, eyes closed thing until she can't stay awake. She does this in the car all the time too while Mr T gets onto the seat and immediately goes to sleep until we arrive wherever we are heading, he is a dream on the 5 hour drive back to Scotland.
