Title: The Envelope Please........Quality Control and Hungry Caterpillar Quilt
Post by: DeeanDave on March 21, 2011, 10:14:55 AM
UPDATE:  We had dinner with all the hookids last night to celebrate our anniversary (the furkids had to remain home....but they did get a small sample of steak upon our return...we were forgiven for them having to stay home).  AND,  Cassie and Sean announced that the baby is a GIRL!!  We are excited for the arrival of a healthy baby girl in mid-August!  Cassie is starting to now plan for the nursery but she was pretty straight forward that the nursery would not be done in pinks! Pink is okay, she is more of the persona of colors rather than a lot of pink.  I'm seeing that her vision is going to be bright happy colors which really fits the personality.  So, as she said last night, not only will they have a dancer in the family but also a basketball player!  The baby did not want to cooperate with them yesterday during the ultra sound.  Baby Girl was laying with her front side towards Mom's back and she did not want to turn over so they could see everything!  The tech/doctor, after about 30 minutes of trying to get the baby to turn, had Cassie get up and walk around and move to see if Baby would turn so they could get a frontal view......Baby turned a little just enough to determine if a boy or girl.......but not for a full frontal view.  It was like, "I'm sleeping, don't distrub me!"

Roberta, you are so right about quilters and fabrics.  It is a world only known to quilters!  I love my fabrics and finding them......sometimes they just jump out at you!    Dee

I finished the Hungry Caterpillar Quilt for the new Grandbaby due to arrive in mid-August.  Tomorrow we get to find out what the baby is ..... boy or girl!  We're excited about that!  Cassie keeps saying the baby is a boy so we'll see if she is right!  The quilt panel was sent to me from Roberta and I found more of the coordinating fabric from a quilt shop in Mankato, Minnesota...couldn't find the fabric locally!  So, here is the finished project awaiting the arrival of the baby and the quality control auditors.   If you'll note, Sarge was taking his quality control auditing job seriously in checking out my finished project.  Duggie, on the other hand, was conducting his quality control auditing on the back of the sofa, looking out the living room window.....he takes bird watching seriously!  Duggie had no interest in the quilt......only the birds!

That is wonderful.   I must have read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to Jessica hundreds of times.   Good boy, Sargey for the QC work, too!

What a beautiful quilt and such a lucky, loved grandbaby. Meghan will still say that The Hungry Caterpillar is her favorite children's book. I'm thrilled that you and Dave will be the "daycare service" for the new baby. Randy's mom kept Meghan until she was five and the memories they made are priceless. She would not trade anything in the world for them. Can't wait to find out whether Cassie is right!

So many things to be thankful for.  Congrats Grandma and Grandpa.  LOVE the quilt.  You have such a talent.  I wouldn't know where to start.  And of course the boys make lovely decorations.
