and I went to see Vet Jane................and they SCRAPPED the tar tar of my toofies, and I did put up a fight for a few seconds as I heard da vet tell mum it did not hurt it was just a strange feeling...............plus I had some gingivitus so I got tablets to take fur a week and stuff for our water................... :confused:

Parker started sumthin' didn't he! Poor Ollie...you ARE a brave boy. Hallie had a bit of tartar on 2 teef that I just couldn't scrape off no matter how hard I scraped, she was very good and stayed still it was just stuck on tight. So the vet last week chipped it off with her fingernail and took a clamp thingie to scrape of the last tooth, I was holding her and she was not moving a muscle and being perfect, suddenly she YELPED in my ear....about went deef for a minute there. I felt so bad...we stopped there was just a tiny bit left anyway I can get that eventually with scraping at home I think. She's not one to yelp or cry unless something really hurts so I am still making it up to her! :comfort:
Supposedly if you spray the Petz Life or the Leballl it softens up the tarter makes it easier to get off ???
Thanks for the reminder, I do have some CET that is supposed to help it come off, I need to get the courage up and give it another try. The onlyl time I tried it (about 3 weeks ago) was the day that she suddenly got sick/sore, I was never sure if it was her tummy or her back that was hurting her I suspect more it was back but it scared me that the CET made her tummy problems flare. I had only used a touch of it though so doubt it was the problem. I'll try it again on Monday when the vets are open! :grin:

an tibiotics for a week and aqaudent in their water.
Plus I have started and not taking prisoners, getting toofs guazed and pasted and move up to brush in a few weeks.

I use the Braums Oral B battery toothbrush it has the small round head on it works great.
Boy it does take a lot to keep these kids teefers pearlie doesn't it.
That is a great idea Papbouv, I have a sonicare with the big head but I remember seeing the oral B with that smaller head. I'll have to put that on the list!

Guinness how are puppers suppose to bite bad guys and protect their mommas & daddy's if you do not have any toofeys ? To keep your toofeys if you have them the mommas & daddy's have to brush the toofeys everyday.Or if you catch a critter how are you suppose to hang on to it if you do not have toofeys after all Dachshunds are suppose to go after Badgers you would not want a Badger to laugh at you if you do not have any toofeys I rest my case. 2nd, i don' mind iffen all da aunties an' uncas talk 'bout us keepin' our toofers for important stuff like snackies an' tweets. It's all dat "Dis gel works good" an' "Dat brush is nice an' small" dat gits on my nerves.

Petz Life comes in a gel peppermint flavor or salmon flavor the spray comes in peppermint not sure if there is a salmon spray it keeps the bacteria down in the puppers mouth so helps keep the tarter softer so it is suppose to come off easier.The Mommas /or Daddy's can use their fingers,gauze pad, they even have little sponges on a stick though Drs Foster & Smith catalog, all kids of different tooth brushes on the market.Also they have stuff to put in the pets water to help with the tarter. Good luck brushing the toofies.
