Title: Do I look like a daschund to you?

A woman from a rescue called me today.......   because I have been looking for  dog ... MAYBE a wirehaired daschund.  She thought this little guy might have some of the qualifications that I am looking for.  WHAT do you think ???????

Maybe Border terrier and Dachshund ? ears seem a little short for a Dachshund. ? would need to see the whole dog standing,side view,view from the top, & back end too. papbouv

First thing I thought was border terrier too. Hard to tell without seeing him from the side. But how awesome you are looking some Ruth!!!!!!!!!!

Ok ..... so I know he's not a dachshund ........ but I'm a pushover for a scruffy face.  He won't be available for a couple of days .... then I'll get more info and maybe take a two hour trip to go and meet him.  I'm also on two breeder's lists for a wirehair dachshund.

Whatever he is, he certainly is cute. I've already said that Molly is winding the dogapult up, so that means Ellie is probably in on it, too. You know, the WW dogs at Rainbow Bridge always work together! I've been explaining how this all works to Randy, but he is still a little skeptical. He just looks at me and says, "Dogapult?"

Sounds like Miss Ellie is working overtime to get her mommy some comany  :comfort:

I have to say with wire haired doxies there is a huge range of looks. I remember seeing one at DCA that I swear the ONLY time you could tell he was a wire was by looking at his face with the little mustache!!
Some look a lot like a smooth and then others look like Benji in the movies!!   At a wild guess I suspect he has some doxie in him, and yes the ears and face do hint of something else!!!  But he sure looks like a sweetie!!

Ok .... he is wirehaired but NOT dachshund.  He's cute but I think that I will wait for a wirehaired dachshund.

He may be a pure bred Border Terrier if you go to Google.com click on Images then type in Border terrier or any breed of dog you will find zillions of pictures of that breed of dog. Also might look for a Border Terrier rescue also, bet they would jump at the chance to find him a home looks pure bred to me.
