Title: Windy!
Post by: Dee Dee and Hallie on February 12, 2011, 11:46:30 PM
Today was my favorite weather, a big wind storm! Hallie and I were at a horse plowing match (we needed Roberta and the clydies) but it was so fun in the wind we went off to ourselves and played. The wind would actually push her sideways, (me too!) her hair was horizontal to the ground. She made me laugh which got her going, silly grrl....

Wonderful photos of Hallie!  She sure does love to model!!  The wind storm that you had during the day hit our side of the state last night starting about 8pm and going through the night!  Once daylight hits, I'll be checking outside for any misplaced/damaged stuff.......it was blowing extremely hard!  Made for a tough night of sleeping....the wind was howling so loud!  Both boys were on alert so they are tired now......at least there is no wind blowing.  They are now snuggled in their blankies and snoring away.

I guess that's the advantage of owning a longhaired dachsie on a windy day.   You could never get such dramatic and beautiful pics with a smoothie.   If the Zs were out in that weather, the only way you could tell it was windy was by their ears blowing over.   Zeke's ears (and Max-angel's, too) are so heavy that they levitate, rather than flip.    Always great to see Miss Hallie having fun!

Nothing better than a good wind storm! As long as it's somewhat warmish.

LOL Hallie needs her own Heathcliff! And her own stormy ocean and craggy rock to perch herself upon.

Dee I hope everything was ok there this morning. Good boys to stay up and take watch with Mom. It really was windy wasn't it! At the plow match they had tape tied between stakes to mark parking and the tape blew loose and wrapped itself around my front license plate several times.  :dontknow: I'm glad I noticed before I drove off with their stakes, I would have had some 'splainin' to do.

Good eye on the dog tag Roberta! You will notice on the next set of running shots she doesn't have a collar on anymore lol. I found those clips that are perfect for switching tags from one collar to another but I see they aren't so good for when she's running. OOOH wedding photography jitters...I feel for you, been there. I don't know how many times I've said "never again" to certain shoots so what am I doing today? Taking pictures of a week old baby! (Hooman!) Definitely not in my element! The lens was 50 1.4, I love the shallow DOF.

I love doxies ears that are big and heavy like that, I could just see Zeke with his ears horizontal! How is he feeling David is he completely recovered now?

I was thinking reading David's post Emma' ears used to get caught like hair in the wind. Where did you get the tag thing as with fox poo girl and run in dam boy getting thier tags swapped is difficult.

Hi DD,

Thanks for asking!   Zeke has fully recovered from his injury/ailment/inflammation.  He's back to his affable, although very stubborn, self.  Hands down, he is the most stubborn of all of the dachsies I've had.  Considering the company he is in, that is quite a statement.   On the upside, he's probably the most intelligent as well.   Makes you wonder if there is a correlation.

I bought the clips over a year ago I just looked everywhere and can't find the invoice or a link or anything.  :cussing: I'll keep looking though and will let you know, I need to have the info also in case I need more. I don't know if you can see real well in the photos here what kind of clip it is, but they are a small size that is just right for the size of the D rings  on the collars but still fit through the small hole of the tag.

That is great news David! I'm so glad Zeke healed so well. That's a good question about stubborn vs intelligent. I wouldn't be surprised if it was connected.
