This is another snowfall that will be remembered for a long time. The city is crippled once again. The kids most likely will not go to school this week since they were already going to be out on Friday and Monday. City and County offices have been closed for two days and will open late tomorrow. We haven't gotten mail since Saturday (the post office does NOT deliver through all kinds of weather, it seems). It has been fun seeing the pictures of kids playing in snow that has lasted more than a day and measured more than 3 inches. They have gotten to have the thrill of sledding for the first time in their lives. I'm starting to get a little cabin fever, mainly because it has been so cold that it is hard to even walk around outside very long. Tomorrow the sun will be out some and that should help considerably. Schatzi has been hilarious. She didn't know what to make of it all at first. Then she kept wanting to go out front to see if she could find the stupid cat that had walked across the front porch. She still keeps going out her doggie door and then coming back in as if she realizes it hasn't gone away yet. At least she can get down her ramp now if she wants to.
Enjoy the pictures. The first ones are when she wanted to track the cat. I wasn't going out yet, so she has her leash on. I did NOT expect her to jump off the porch! The ones in her pink jacket are when I decided to take her out for a few minutes when I was going to walk around myself.
Here is another of her in her pink, trying to get up the steps again, and then a couple of her today after her ramp was cleared off. It didn't take long before she had decided she had been out long enough.
The first one shows why we aren't moving much today. This is our road at 3:00 this afternoon, 12 hours after all precipitation had stopped and 18 hours after any snow had fallen. The snow covered tree was on my walk in the falling snow yesterday morning. And the barbwire is in our backyard and I just like the different colors and textures. I can't wait until the sun is out tomorrow. I should be able to get some great pictures then with a blue sky in the background.
I've been looking forward to these, your photos are great Teresa! Poor Schatzi LOL she needs a snow plow out in front of her especially on the steps. She's too cute and too funny, love her pink chill out sweater! You really got a ton of snow! It's just beautiful. Have fun tomorrow we'll be anxious to see what you capture then!
At least we are so used to snow here in Colorado, things keep moving. That is deep snow for a woobie....we have to shovel our backyard so the pack can go out ~ otherwise they just potty on the deck and say "no way".
That's so funny Eileen, we got snow last night (a couple of inches...all gone this morning and raining!) I opened the back door for Hallie to go out (I was poised to pick her up and take her to the poopatorium in my jammies) she went about 1 foot out the door, squatted and peed on her ramp. She never does that. But who can blame them it's pretty funny how they find solutions to their situations! :2funny:
GREAT pictures! The "step here somewhere" one looks like a dachsie snowplow. Schatzi is totally precious and very brave to out in that.
Thanks everyone. Schatzi still looks like she can't believe it is still there. This morning she went on the side porch to bark at someone, decided it was too cold and came in and stuck her head out the doggie door and barked at them that way! Silly doggie. Here are a couple from today. I loved seeing the ice on the trees once the sun came out. The second one down is a dogwood bud. Hard to believe it will be opened up in just a couple of months. The last one is of the same snow covered tree as in the earlier picture, but this time with the beautiful blue sky behind it. I just had to get one more picture of it before the snow melted off.
Gorgeous! Is that the entrance to your driveway? Great shot of the bird too these are all just beautiful. LOL on Schatzi, she is definitely a smart cookie!

I can only wish that were the entrance to my driveway! The house that drive belongs to recently sold for $850,000. Hard to believe it is within a mile of my house. Definitely doesn't look like it belongs in the same neighborhood!
We still have snow on the ground today, but the roads are slowly clearing, at least where the sun hits. The shady areas are still as icy as ever. Some of the trees still had ice on them this morning, which really surprised me. Unfortunately (well fortunately, if I want pd time off at the end of the year) we went back to work today, so the picture taking time is over for now.
