Title: "Pee Pads" Question
Post by: MindyKay on November 17, 2005, 02:22:24 PM
I've been buying Adult pee pads for Ozzy to use when he is in the laundry room overnight.  I had been buying them from PetCo and Ozzy takes quite well to the.  A fews days ago, I ran out of pads, and only wanted to make one stop, so I stopped at Target and bought a pack of pads along with the other things I needed to get at Target.  The ones from Target have Arm & Hammer baking soda in them as odor neutrazliers.  The ones from PetCo do not.

Ozzy refuses to use the ones from Target.  Do you think he doesn't like their scent?  Am I stuck buying pads only at PetCo?

Do they smell different to you?  Or do they look different?  Maybe they feel different on his feet?  I actually got one of the reusable ones that you can wash to put by Cajsa's pottybox.  She sometimes misses if she's in a hurry or sleepy.  She has taken to just peeing on the pad sometimes instead of getting in the box.  :sad1:

The ones from Target do have a rather strong smell to them and are thinner than the pads I get from PetCo.

Oh, and I have to place the pad in exactly the same spot all the time.  Go figure :dontknow:

My lil girl Fa Fa is potty trained to go on peepee pads as a pup...she also used newspaper...but I work at a baby retail store here in SF and we sell these similar things that look like peepee pads except it doesn't smell like baby powderish...and she takes to it just as well as the ones from Target or PetSmart and even Petco.  But I do recall seeing this one spray that you can get to spray on the pad to leave a scent so they'll know where to pee by sniffing the smell out rather than the feel of the pad itself.  So that MAY help...?

I stopped by PetCo and picked up their pads.  I put it down in the exact spot Ozzy wants it, and sure enough, he used it sometime during the night.

Oh well, I can find a use for the other pads - put them where I don't want Ozzy to go!!!
