Title: A King Sol Memory - theraputic
Post by: SNKSMOMSUE on December 22, 2010, 06:40:49 PM
The first few months we had Solomon, we trained him to sleep in his crate.  When he was about six months old, we let him sleep with us in the BIG BED.   He was too little to jump (our bed was high off the ground) and totally potty trained so weeks went by with no issues.  Sol loved to sleep on the pillow between us.

THEN ONE MORNING.......the alarm went off, and I reached for Sol.  Not there.  I throw off blankets, no Sol.  He was pretty good at coming when I called him, so I tried that.  Nothing.  Being a new dog mommy, I am going into frantic mode.  I wake Jim up - "SOL ISN'T HERE"!! He is groggy but "gets it" so he gets out of bed and starts calling Sol's name.  Nothing.  Ok, forgot to mention that we sleep with our bedroom door shut.  Closet, nothing, Bathroom nothing.  Now we are both starting to panic - it makes no sense, were is the dog?!?!

Finally, we find him.  He had fallen off the foot of the mattress, but was caught by the sheet being tucked in.  There he was, on his back, feet in the air, just a dozing away.
:love7:

Thanks for reading - you guys are always here when I need you!

LOL that is hilarious. The looks I imagine on your faces is even more hilarious. He trusted you 100% even at that early stage to lay there and not only not panic but take a kingly snooze!

Oh, my - how cute is that?  (And yet there's no photo of this?  But I'm sure you and hubby will always have that mental image!)

Oh my goodness.  That's a great story.  I had the mental image of a hammock, too.

Bless him, can just imagine the scene, typical he would just carry on snoozing and not respond since he was so comfy where he was, very regal indeed.
