We were thinkin' about 'cha yesterday -- how ya doing?
Hi Leslie,
I am doing ok. Work has continued to be a trial this year. At my insistence, my boss and I have had a few discussions regarding whether I would continue to work there. Changes are in the cards, hopefully for the better.
I tried to adopt a smooth B&T Silver Dapple in October but was turned down. The foster mom really liked the way we interacted (he fell asleep on my lap) and my knowledge of the breed but he has separation anxiety and she felt my work schedule would be not be a good match. My family had all volunteered to stop during the during day but it was a no go. I kinda knew it wouldn't happen as a certain little angel had already sent me a message that his spot wasn't going to be filled quite yet.
I visit the board most every day to see what is going on. I pulled out Roberta's highland shortbread recipe she posted 4 yrs ago (wow, it doesn't seem that long) and am finally going to give it a try tomorrow after the butter softens. I made my usual batch over the weekend and am waiting to see how well it ages.
I hope things are going well at your house and thanks for thinking of me.
It's so good to see you post Mike. I am glad to hear you at least attempted to adopt a doxie. Sometimes when it doesn't work out like that I figure it was meant to show us something...I have no doubts Clifford will send along the right one when the time is right.
I hope things go well at work, sounds like things are stirred up which is good for making changes! Enjoy the shortbread I remember that year I tried making it and it would have broke a toe through a steel toed boot had it fallen on one...
Sounds like things are in flux...maybe not the right time for a new companion. I hope that things work out for ya. I would never have thought I would end up at my current job--it's a completely different venue than my previous employers, but here I am and I love it!
You just never know. You have a lot going for you -- keep the faith!
Awwwww Mike :comfort: it is great to see you here ! You are meant to be a doxie dad....and our Clifford Angel will send the right one your way, when the time is right.... Keeping good thoughts that all works out on the work front - please keep us posted. Take care of you !
Good to see you posting, Mike! There IS a special doxie out there somewhere that needs you, so keep looking! It will happen when it is supposed to. Meanwhile, I hope that things get better at work for you. Stress without a pupper to play with is a tough thing!
Happy that you posted, Mike and let us know how you are doing. We've also been thinking about you lately and wondering how things were going. Hang in there with the job....we'll send rays for postiive outcomes! And, as everyone else said in regard to another pupper......when the time is right and Clifford-Angel gives the green light, the right pupper will fall right into your lap. Our angels know what they are doing from the Rainbow Bridge!!
Good to 'see' you, Mike. It sounds like work change is in the near future for you. It's always scary but seems to work to our advantage. As for the pup ... at least you won't have to worry about housebreaking a new pup on top of changing jobs. I bet once you get settled, your little furry loved one will appear. Keep us posted.
Hello Unca Mike! It has been passed through family lines that you make the bestest shortbread. Wanna let me be your Taster?
Bonnie
Mike, UGH about changes. It's always hard. I'm hoping what ever happens that you will soon land on your feet and have a dachsie licking your toes and NOSE (at 3:00 AM).
Glad you popped by!
Sandi and the shortbread novice, Bonnie
I, like everyone else, was glad to hear from you. I've wondered how you've been and know what a uncomfortable job situation is like. Keeping all paws crossed that the right dog and the all the right things happen for you.

:read2: Just remember my story:
I showed up on the Doxie Rescue site about two hours before Auntie Karen signed on, after e-mailing the Ingrams about Roscoe-Angel's untimely passing. :angel4:
No doubt about it, I was heaven-sent! (Heaven with help from Roscoe!)
Your pupper, whatever the age, will show up when the time is JUST right! :thumb:

Nice to see your post! I had my reading group put my HRC tees in alphabetical order a couple weeks ago, so naturally Copenhagen was close to the top! (Thanks again!) The four-pack says "hello" to Unca Mike!
