Sam here - Yesterday it rained and mom made me go to da vet in it. At first I didn't want to get out of da car, but mom said dere might be kitties in there so I went, but made mom carry to da door. When we got into da exam room the vet tech came in and talked to mom about me den asked if I could have a cookie - I took the cookie and almost bit her finger off, now they call me Sam the snake cuz I strike when you least expect it. Dr Pam said I was doing fine and mom shouldn't worry so much cuz I have the body of a 12 year old dachsie(I'm gonna be 14 next week).
Marcia here - Originally Sam was due for his shots in September, but I was having trouble walking back then and Dr Cindy's parking lot is too much of a walk for Sam & I. So we are back by Dr Pam - I can park right outside the door. When I had made the appointment rain was not in the forcast, but it really wasn't that bad. Sam did almost nip the tech because he took the treat when she least expected it so I think Sam the snake or Sam the shark are good nicknames for him. Dr Pam said Sam was in good health despite the fact his teeth needed cleaning again(they were done 9/04). Otherwise his heart is good and he acts like a young pup running instead of walking(can you say herd of elephants). She told me I should be proud of how good his health is, and it made me feel good.Dr Pam was very interested in the hug a dog harness and was surprised how well Sam's heart could be heard through the mesh. And she was further interested in the buddy car seat.
When we were ready to walk out Sam decided he just had to visit with the girls in the office and check out all the smells in the waiting room. For a dog who didn't want to be there he really hated to leave.
Sam here I forgot to say I scored 3 treats - would have been more, but mom said NO.
Sometimes getting to sniff something new is exciting! And scoring 3 treats! Aren't you lucky...even if you had to go to the vet to get them :)
