Title: Critters in gramma's house
Post by: Leslie on November 04, 2010, 10:24:04 AM
We took Zuzu to MIL's for dinner last night and forgot all about the grandkids' guinea pigs that gramma is baby-sitting!  They were in a cage on the floor.  At first, Zuzu didn't notice, and she was happily drinking out of her water bowl UNTIL the faintest little squeak came out of the cage.  She SHOT across the room and circled that cage veeeeeeeery intently.  She was so dissapointed when DH carried the cage into the other room until she discovered thei food!  Turns out that if ya can't get to eat a guinea pig, the dry food isn't too bad.  :0

That was like when we dropped the Zs off at a petsitter.   They quickly discovered a pair of ferrets in a cage.   The Zs split up and went to opposite sides of the cage.  One one side, Zeke was barking and trying to eat the ferrets, on the other side, Zora was trying to "mother" them by giving them kisses.

LOL... I wish I could have seen it.

Pixie would certainly try to eat the guinea pigs, and would not be deterred by somebody taking the cage away... she'd just follow whomever was carrying it.  She's one determined criter eliminator!

LOL maybe they'll start a guinea pig earthdog just for the Zooz!  My niece has a guinea pig too (Pepper) and it looks like a mini shih tzu they are so cute! Hallie doesn't have an hunting instinct though (at least that is awake) and she mothers and snuggles with him.

Sarge and Duggie would bark "SCORE"!  They both have the hound hunting instinct!  The other night, when I took them out for their last potty break before going to bed......they found the rabbit in the yard!  Now, mind you, this is at 11:30 at night, and I have two dogs doing a screaching bark as they are chasing the rabbit and they have a crazy lady running behind them telling to be quiet and go to the house!  We have yard lights that light up the area pretty good so any neighbors looking out, got a good show!  The rabbit finally escaped at the gate by sliding through the curved area on the bottom.  Then they both looked at me like "what's your problem....we were only protecting our yard!" And, off they trotted into the house.  Neighbors haven't said anything to me so I'm hoping no one was disturbed or they think I am completely off my rocker!!

LOL Dee...I have a feeling your neighbors know you well enough by now there isn't much you could do to surprise them.
