Title: Ellie in Montana
Post by: Ruth in MT on October 31, 2010, 07:08:21 PM
I lost my sweet little eLlIe today.  She was  having trouble this morning but it just  seemed like her alergies were really acting up.

I took her to the emergency vet at 10:00am.  They took x-rays etc ... inflamation in her neck but couldn't see anything else.  They were going to give her stroids, wanted to watch her and probably pick her up at 3:00.  Then they called and asked if ok to do blood work, then called back and said they wanted to sedate her and check her throat.  Then they called back and told me she died.  Still don't know exactly why.

Ellie's Star of the Day post .....

Oh, Ruth, I am so sorry. I know that when you woke up this morning, you never expected to go to bed this evening without your Ellie. Even though it won't bring her back, I hope you can find out what was wrong with her. Maybe it was some kind of allergic reaction. My prayers are with you as you go through this difficult time of missing your baby girl. I'm sure she is running and playing now, and hopefully, that will bring you some small amount of comfort.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts.
The vet found a "sizeable" tumor in/on/around her throat,  maybe throid or salvery gland.  Nothing had showed up in x-rays ..... and our vet had done x-rays before and scopes etc looking for reasons of her "alergies" .... nobody has said yet but I am thinking that she never had alergies but symptons from a tumor.  My poor baby.   A neighbor took me out to a farm and burried her this afternoon.
Ellie helped me through a broken neck and breast cancer ......  I guess nothing else can happen to me now.

Rest in Peace my little girl.

On NO!  How horrible and how sudden.  I know you are beside yourself.  I can't offer anything to make you feel any better...she was dearly loved, not only by yourself and all the members here who had a chance to share in her stories.  God Speed, beautiful girl

Gosh who would have thought she had a tumor! The things that can happen to these little ones can be so horrific. I was just thinking that, how she helped you through your trials and how that makes the bond even stronger. I am so sorry, it's a shock that will take a long time to wear off for all of us, she was so young it isn't fair.

One of the first things I thought of was Ellie with her pink ribbon. You are right, nothing else can happen to you now! Take care of yourself and know we are all thinking of you.

Ruth, I'm so sorry to read this.  I think Ellie's card sums her life with you very well.  She sent you lots of love and I think she will continue to do that even from the Bridge.

We are very sorry to hear about Ellie.   We hope the pain of her loss will soon fade so that only the happy memories will remain.   Ellie's pics and stories will live on in all of us.   She joins a growing cast of beloved characters from WW who now reside at the Bridge.

The Tin Woodman said, "Now I know I have a heart . . . because it's breaking."

She's resting now.  Take care of yourself and know that all of us here are sharing your pain and loss.

Ruth, I am so sorry to come upon this so late.  I am very sorry for your sudden loss of Ellie in October.  If you've kept up with my situation better than I have with yours, you know I am down in my back, and that Rowan is beginning week three of 4 week-crate rest.  I really need to keep up better, though. RIP, sweet Ellie, and I know you are enjoying your romps at the Rainbow Bridge!
