Our temps climbed to around 108 here in SLO and it's not cooling off at 8:00 pm. I am MISERABLE and WANT FOG and marine layer!! The sun is waaaay overrated in my book. Coastal Oregon is really looking good today. Poor Bonnie has had several sponge offs and is still panting. We did find out something about our "daughter". She came from MY side of the family. Yes, we both have the same characteristic....WE BOTH LOVE TO CHOMP ON ICE CUBES! :thumb: I put one in her water and she drug it out and ate the whole thing a little bit at a time and then wanted another. That's my girl! :headbang:
It's suppose to cool off a very little tomorrow with full cool down on Wednesday. I HATE being this hot! Since we don't usually get these kinds of temps, we don't have an air conditioner. If I lived 10 miles north up Cuesta Grade into Santa Margarita, Atascadero and Paso Robles, we'd have air, believe me. It gets scorching up there almost all summer. I can only imagine how JuliaB is doing in Bakersfield heat. :P
A hundred and EIGHT???? I didn't even know that existed! Yes that would be a bit too hot even for me I'm sure. I just had dinner with some friends from the midwest who are out here looking at houses they want to get out of the hot and cold too (I told them prepare to be wet all winter but they are ok with it they say). Hope you get that cool down tomorrow. I can just see Bonnie and the ice cubes!
Yes Julia how are you and the kids doing out there in the heat?
I feel you...it was 112 in east San Diego today!
Whu?? That is nuts. Poor animals outside in that who aren't brought in to the AC....hope it cools down for you all soon (but you can send a LITTLE of it our way...)
Sounds so terrible for you there, at least you both find some relief and something to play with those ice cubes...
Ooh, can you send just about ten degrees of that my way? It's been too chilly to take the puppies out and they really want to play outside. They're going a little bit stir-crazy.

We had 102 Monday and 100 yesterday, but Los Angeles had 115 in places on Monday - and they have no air conditioners like Sandi! While it was hot, still not as bad as many Julys and Augusts in St. Louis, MO area - the temps are usually in mid- to upper 90s, but with humidity in the 95% range, it's like wearing clothes in a hot shower while you're outside.
OMG - that is so hot !!! This year has been a miserable one.... I am thrilled today that our high will be 85 !!! Stay cool Bon-Bon (and mommy too :thumb: )
I feel for everyone dealing with the heat. After a terribly hot S.C. summer, we have had two days of rain and a high today of 67. Saturday we were at 93. The only problem is getting my body to adjust to the sudden drop in temperature, but I will handle it. I love this weather!! Hopefully, the heat on the west coast will pass pretty soon and you will return back to normal.
was in las vegas last month with my dachshund service dog and the temperiture one day was a stagering 119 degrees. i read the temperature on my cell and thought wtf?
