Zeke has the biggest ears of any dachshund I've ever seen.  When we had the Bow Wows, where one of the categories was "Widest Ear Span", we didn't even bother to measure any other dachshund.   Zeke had a solid two inches of span over the next nearest dachshund.

Dolly had smallish ears for a dachsie and she loved to wear them flipped.
Maddie had average size ears, but alas, they were mostly bald from being licked by Bonnie.
Bonnie's ears are one of the favorite parts of her.  They are a little bigger than average, perhaps, but the funniest thing about them is they have random silky hairs that grow longer on the ends.  I call it "unhemmed ears".  I think our girl had some distant cousins who were long hairs in her family.

Now about those BIG feet..... :dontknow:

Title: I miss Holly-dog's flappers
Post by: Gail on September 07, 2010, 02:57:36 PM
I do miss little Holly's big leathery ears, when she was really interested in something she'd sit with them like in this picture below. They didn't flap over half as much as Ivy's ears do, they are constantly inside out but that could be to make her more streamlined for racing around. What Ivy lacks in ear size compared to Holly she definitely makes up for in fat paw size - sooo cute chubby paws while Holly had fine little footsies with great grappling hooks to help her do her death defying tree climbing lol.

Hallie's ears appear big but when you feel through the hair they are probably normal sized ears. She is dainty all over. When we were showing her left ear was always flipped over her head the whole time we were heeling because of the way she held her head looking up at me.

Definitely one of the cutest gestures of dachshund with their ears flipped over...
