Title: Buddy went to the vets Heartattack time for MOM
Post by: papbouv on August 17, 2010, 10:58:08 PM
They should not give you the bill unless you are sitting down $460.00 for skin scrape, blood work up for Heart worm, tick disease, thyroid, shot, antibiotics, 6 month supply of Frontline Plus for both Buddy & Patches. Since when does it cost more for you dog to go to the vet than it does a person.????
I still say as long as heart worm medications and flea & tick medications have been around they should have generic version out by now.I do not mean the grocery store stuff either.

Wow, ouch! That seems awfully high to me too. As you know we don't need to treat for heartworm here but I need to put Hallie on something in October for when we go to San Francisco, sounds like I better be prepared for the cost. I also have never treated her for fleas and she's never had them (although she did when I brought her home from the shelter). Buddy got the works! Hopefully you won't have to go back with him for another year.

The 3 year shots are due in October including rabies a must have then also must have Interceptor for Heart worm over $200.00 I'm sure.
Going to be super sad soon regular people will not be able to afford pets.Read in Dog Fancy some time back vet care has went up about 400% in the last 5 years or so, know vets go to school even longer than people doctors but gee whiz.
