Title: Pictures of Roscoe
Post by: Krista on November 10, 2005, 08:26:00 PM
Our Roscoe is home and resting comfortably.  Gwen is confused as to why she cannot lay with him.

Thanks again for the rays and prayers!  I'll post more in the morning.

Oh man. Poor baby Roscoe (and Gwennie too she looks like she's asking you to please open that door and make it all better!). We're praying for you guys. Is he able to stand and move about a bit? Do you have to express him or can he go by himself?

Oh Krista!  I'm so glad he's home and resting.  It's better for him to be in his own home.  Lots of hugs to you guys and to Gwennie too

DD - Roscoe has no motor function yet and no he cannot empty his bladder voluntarily yet.  We are hopeful for the days and weeks to come though.

I've done okay so far in the last 12 hours that he's been in our care.  I've expressed his bladder 3 times and he has pooped twice - one time was even outside! :)  Of course that was just because his body was ready to poop right then, but still I let him sniff it so he knew he had gone and he knew he was outside.

He is doing okay with sling walking just a bit when we get ready to express his bladder.  I need to find one of those slings that are made to help lowrider dogs though.  This makeshift sling we are using - made by the vet tech out of a surgical gown and wrapped with a bandage - is quite clumsy.

He looks really good.  His back is a franken-weenie, but he looks like he's doing well.  Poor Gwennie wanting to lay with her brudder!  I'm sure she'll get in there with him as soon as she can.  Gentle belly rubs to both of them (and to Rudy too!)  {{HUGS}} to you and I"ll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers!

Poor Roscoe and Gwennie,..... When Bridget was having her back episode a few weeks ago, our yellow lab Joy, couldn't understand why she couldn't play with Bridget.  When Bridg was in her crate, Joy would lay in front of it nose to nose with Bridget, then look at me and cry.  But when I'd take Bridget outside to potty, Joy would get so excited, she would run over bridget, and try to flip her into the air with her nose.  YAHOOOOO, My baby's out..... the whole experience was as tough on Joy as it was on any of Bridget's people!
