We went back today for his weekly check on his progress. He is improving each day and gaining his strength back. The doc said his lungs sound good. All signs are good. He still has a slight little hiccup cough when he over exerts or gets too excited. Overall, his signs of improvement are positive -- he is exploring the yard more and doesn't have to sit and take a break as much as he has had to in the past few days. He still has six days of medication to take and then we'll see how he does. He'll have a day without meds prior to his return appointment. There would only be one that we would continue if needed as the other two were antibiotics. He will continue to take the Pepcid once a day. He goes back in on the 12th of July for a recheck. Each day, he is initiating play with his brothers. We are still on the baby food and prescription dog food but we can now slowly introduce other "wet" food which will be pureed to the consistency of the prescription dog food and will do the wet food, prescription food and baby food all mixed together. The wet food will be introduced with the other food slowly to see how he does. Thank goodness for food processors to puree his food. He has started to notice the difference of the food he is receiving compared to his brothers...he looks at their food and then at his and back at theirs.....then he'll eat his after giving me the look. He eats in his upright position so he can't get to his brothers' food. The docs are amazed at how well he is doing. The doc marveled today of how good he looked and sounded. This little guy wormed his way into all the hearts of the docs and techs! As sick as he was, he has put forward all the fight he had in him. Along with that and all the prayers and rays from his extended Wiener Writings family, he pulled through!
What a great report card, Earl! So glad to hear that the little guy is getting all better. :apls:

Dee, has there been any prognosis, is this a permanent thing or could he improve? I'm sure you and Earl will be an encouraging example for anyone coming into their clinic with a similar problem!
I'm so thrilled to hear how well the Earl-man is doing. Keeping rays coming for him to keep getting better and better. Thanks for all the reports on how he has been doing. It's good to keep up with our fellow WW family.
